Blake Monroe Takes Massive Dig At Injured WWE Star

Blake Monroe is in high spirits of late.

Since making her debut for WWE in June, Monroe has landed her first shot at gold and will challenge for the NXT North American Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc on October 25.

The bout, however, is unconventional due to the events that occurred on the latest NXT taping.

Sol Ruca, who is the current Women’s North American Champion, revealed that she had injured her leg on SmackDown while challenging for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

As a result, she would be unable to defend the title at Halloween Havoc.

This prompted Blake Monroe to demand that the belt be handed over to her. However, Ruca’s tag team partner, Zaria, offered to step up and defend it in her stead.

NXT General Manager Ava liked the idea and made the match official, much to Monroe’s dismay.

The British star recently spotted a comment on social media, praising her gimmick and claiming that Sol Ruca’s title could use “glamour,” which is Monroe’s schtick.

Monroe could not let it pass without taking a swipe at the injured star.

Blake Monroe Praises Iyo Sky

Before joining AEW, Blake Monroe wrestled in Japan as part of World Wonder Ring Stardom.

Between 2022 and 2024, she competed in several matches in the promotion, even winning the Goddesses of Stardom Championship with Mina Shirakawa.

During an interview with TVInsider, “The Glamour” was asked who she thought was the best wrestler in the world.

Without any second thoughts, Blake Monroe bestowed that honor upon Iyo Sky.

It’s amazing because I remember starting my wrestling journey and coming across Japanese wrestling, specifically women’s wrestling. I was amazed at the costumes and presentation. I thought, “What is this?” You’ve seen Iyo and Giulia, and their presentation, which is the best I’ve ever seen.

I already knew this world, so seeing the rest of the world find out that Iyo Sky is the best wrestler in the world, not just women’s wrestling. I was like, “yeah, catch up.” I’m excited to wrestle them and see what they can bring out of me. I’m just going to learn so much. I always had fun with everyone I wrestled in Japan. I think they had fun wrestling me too. [H/T: TVInsider]
