Becky Lynch Wanted WWE Hall Of Famer As Her Manager
Becky Lynch frequently requested to have her wrestling idol in her corner.
Lynch has stated that Mick Foley has been her biggest inspiration, citing The Hardcore Legend as the one who got her back into wrestling following a lapsed period. With the praise going in both directions, Foley has also been frequently complimentary of The Man’s career. Despite the mutual respect, Foley and Lynch have barely been seen onscreen together in WWE. However, according to the Hall of Famer, there could have been a different timeline where a partnership formed.
Speaking on Foley is Pod, the former WWE Champion was asked if there was anyone in AEW that he wanted to manage. Foley responded by stating that there was no one in the promotion he felt could benefit from his services in 2023, but did reveal that Lynch has previously asked him about it:
“I can’t think of anybody offhand. Because honestly, I don’t think I have much to offer in a managerial role. Do you know who’s always wanted me to do an angle, like from a managerial perspective? Becky Lynch. She’s pointed that out a few times. I said, ‘Becky, if you can talk to the powers that be, I would,’ but she’s doing really well on her own. So I can’t I can’t think offhand of somebody who could benefit from me standing around ringside as a middle-aged man. So I’m open to ideas though,”
Appearing to pay homage to Foley at No Mercy, Lynch was seen with a barbed wire baseball bat during her Extreme Rules match against Tiffany Stratton.
