Becky Lynch – “Every Good Story Has A Layer Of Truth”
Becky Lynch believes that while WWE superstars are performing scripted storylines, there is also some truth to the stories they are trying to tell.
For the past four months, Becky Lynch has been involved in a storyline with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. They were teammates that won at WrestleMania 39, but then Stratus turned on Lynch after they lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles. We later found out that Trish took out Lita earlier in the night.
There are many people that believe Lynch is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers in WWE history. Fans have rallied behind her for rivalries against top women in the company like Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Bianca Belair and numerous others. Throughout it all, Lynch is known as “The Man” due to her meteoric rise in popularity and ability to relate to the fans as a fighter that won’t ever give up.
While talking to Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, Lynch made it clear that her segments have some reality to them.
“It’s walking a fine line, right? People say that kayfabe is dead, and to a certain extent, it is, but people want to believe it. People want to believe [in] what we’re doing … you want people to have that emotional hook. But, there’s also a thing where we tell them — this is a story, and it’s actually being driven more and more [with] people are getting into … the storytelling.”
As she continued, Becky Lynch spoke about how there is some truth in WWE stories, especially the good ones.
“In every single good story, there is a layer of truth and many layers of truth — quite often. This is a competitive business. We’re not all holding hands backstage going kumbaya, and if we are, we’re not being honest with each other.”
Becky Lynch To Face Trish Stratus In Big Raw Grudge Match
While it was heavily rumored that Becky Lynch’s rivalry with Stratus would be settled at SummerSlam, the match wasn’t on the card this past Saturday. Lynch didn’t even go to the show while her husband Seth Rollins retained the World Heavyweight Title over Finn Balor, who helped to train Lynch when she was starting in the business.
The Lynch-Stratus match will take place next Monday, August 14th on Raw in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada, which is Trish’s home country.
