Bayley Says Sorry In Light Of WrestleMania Plans
For weeks it had been rumoured that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler would challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39 but that appears to be no longer the case.
Instead, the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita and Becky Lynch are scheduled to be part of a huge six-woman tag team match where they will team with Trish Stratus to take on the Damage CTRL trio of Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai.
It was confirmed on SmackDown in Kansas City that two four-way tag team matches will also take place at WrestleMania in an apparent attempt to get more stars on the card. Raquel Rodriguez and Live Morgan was the first team to qualify for the women’s matches and reports have suggested the full lineups for those matches.
Bayley was one-half of the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions along with Sasha Banks when they captured the belts inside the Elimination Chamber in early 2019. That title reign was cut short when they lost to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35, a loss that was recently alluded to by The Role Model’s current rival, Trish Stratus.
Now with the title apparently missing from the WrestleMania 39 card, Bayley has taken to social media to cryptically say sorry accompanied by a picture of her looking longingly at the title belt.
