Bayley Won’t Give WWE Star A WrestleMania Match

Bayley does not want to give a WWE star a WrestleMania match “payday” despite the pair’s long term rivalry.

The WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion has her hands full trying to keep Damage Ctrl going after Iyo Sky has begun to push back on Bayley’s leadership. But despite needing to prepare for Money In The Bank, Bayley cannot shake off a WWE Employee who she feels wants a WrestleMania match.

After turning heel in 2019, Bayley’s actions were criticized by WWE’s lead commentator Michael Cole. During the Thunderdome setting across 2020 Bayley and Sasha Banks would begin to goad Cole, which has become an ongoing battle.

Following the 2023 Draft, Bayley and the rest of Damage Ctrl were drafted to Smackdown, a move that saw Bayley tweet about Cole and ensure the feud continued.

The former Hugger was a guest on the latest episode of WWE’s The Bump and shared her annoyance at receiving a text message from Michael Cole, and his desire to have had a match with her at WrestleMania.

Bayley had arrived late to her hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, and decided to eat at a steakhouse next to her accommodation.

Whilst eating, Cole messaged her to question why the former Smackdown Women’s Champion would sit on her own in a booth.

“He’s sitting right in front of me. He says, ‘Who sits in a booth all by themselves?’ I don’t want to sit at the bar, because I don’t want to talk to people. If you sit at the bar, that’s open conversation.

For people like you, Michael. I don’t want to talk to Michael Cole. I don’t want to see your face, Michael Cole. I’m tired of you, and when I’m ready to get back in your head or whatever, I will — you know he wants that WrestleMania match, he wants that payday.”

“People want it so bad that I don’t want to give it to them. Even Cole wants it so bad, I don’t want to give him the attention.”

Bayley is currently focusing on the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match taking place on Saturday, July 1st in London.

There has been some defection in the ranks of Damage Ctrl in recent weeks as Iyo Sky feels that Bayley has not shared opportunities for singles Championships with her faction.

With Dakota Kai out injured, the pair have qualified for the Ladder match and will look to secure the contract for themselves.
