Bayley Addresses Possible Damage CTRL Triple Threat Match
WWE Grand Slam Champion Bayley wants WrestleMania “dream match” against “two of the greatest ever”.
Bayley was ringside as Iyo Sky successfully defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Asuka.
Victory over two of the most successful Superstars in the history of the women’s division has given Sky’s reign a huge push, after the Damage CTRL member cashed in her 2023 Money In The Bank briefcase on Bianca Belair at SummerSlam.
Whilst Bayley is still seen as the leader of the group, Sky and Dakota Kai have more than held their own as the former Tag Team Champions have gained a big following since being part of the main roster.
The former Hugger appeared with her Damage CTRL teammates on the Fastlane press conference and was asked about a possible triple threat battel between the group, something the Two-Time Smackdown Women’s Champion wants to happen, but just not yet.
“I think that would be a dream match of mine too. They’re two of my best friends. Two of the greatest ever, in my opinion. That’s why we’ve come together and taken over the WWE and the women’s division.
So to me, that would be such an honour, such a dream. That sounds like a WrestleMania match to me. But we’re not rushing this moment. LA Knight was just talking about living in the moment and enjoying these magical nights. So let’s just enjoy tonight. Let’s hold that up.”
Jade Cargill Has Bayley’s Ally Iyo Sky In Her Sights
Iyo Sky continues to establish her position as a leader of the women’s division, defeating Charlotte Flair and Asuka to retain the WWE Women’s Championship at Fastlane, but with the recent return of Nia Jax and the recent signing of Jade Cargill, there could be a long list of challengers looking to ground the “genius of the sky”.
Cargill’s signature was paraded by WWE and Triple H as the company look to ensure fans get excited by the possibility of the former AEW TBS Champion entering fantasy matches with Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, but with Nia Jax arriving on Raw, it could see Cargill set her targets to SmackDown and finding her way to a match with Iyo Sky.
The Nightmare Factory trained Superstar made her debut backstage during the Fastlane kick off show, but after the event Triple H refused to place a schedule on when fans can expect to see Cargill make her in-ring debut.
One WWE Hall of Famer feels Cargill would benefit from spending time in the WWE Performance Centre, but following the success of Cody Rhodes since his move back to WWE from AEW, bosses could choose to create a similar path to the main event for Cargill.
