“Mother Is So Proud” – AJ Lee Reacts To Cora Jade’s Cosplay Of Her At NXT Live Event
AJ Lee is very proud of the look that WWE NXT superstar Cora Jade pulled off during a recent Halloween battle royal.
Whether she was a good girl or a bad girl, AJ Lee always knew how to get reactions during her WWE run from 2009 to 2015. After starting on the NXT competition, she joined the main roster in 2011 and quickly became one of the most talked about women in the company.
Lee wasn’t just a women’s wrestler competing against other women (then known as “divas”) in the company. She was also involved in main event storylines along with her future husband CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kane and John Cena as well.
Due to her looks, skill in the ring and terrific promo ability, there’s no doubt that Lee was a huge influence on the next generation of women in pro wrestling.
One of those next-generation women is a rising star in NXT, the 21-year-old Cora Jade. While competing in a cosplay battle royal at an NXT live event on October 28th in Melbourne, Florida, Jade decided to dress up as one of her wrestling heroes, AJ Lee. Jade tweeted a photo and AJ replied this way:

Obviously, AJ is joking about being Cora’s mother although it’s fair to say just by looking at the photo that Jade does a striking resemblance to AJ and even wore the classic “Love Bites” shirt.
The WWE NXT Instagram account also posted a video of Jade skipping to the ring just like AJ Lee used to do.
While AJ retired as a wrestler in 2015 due to permanent damage to her cervical spine (as she revealed in her memoir), she is still involved in pro wrestling. In October 2021, AJ Lee started working for WOW (Women of Wrestling) as an Executive Producer.
Earlier in October 2022, a movie co-written by AJ called Blade of the 47 Ronin was released and it’s now available on Netflix.
