AEW “Very, Very High” On Former World Champion
One former world champion is impressing in AEW.
Christian Cage has been an absolute menace in AEW ever since he “worked everyone” and turned his back on Jack Perry taking Perry’s long-time friend Luchasaurus over to the dark side with him.
Cage and his “right hand of destruction” have caused mayhem but found success with Luchasaurus winning the TNT Championship from Wardlow back in June on the first episode of Collision. However, Cage has been the one carrying the title ever since and likes to talk in the plural about who the champion is.
On the 23rd of September edition of Collision, Christian Cage will get a chance to claim the title all for himself as he will be part of a three-way match for the gold – he accidentally slipped and called it a handicap match – also involving Darby Allin.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he wouldn’t be surprised if Cage won the gold as there are people in the company thrilled with his work right now:
“I know that there are people very, very high on Christian right now, so that wouldn’t surprise me at all (Christian pinning Luchasaurus in the TNT Championship three-way match set for Collision that also features Darby Allin).”
When did Christian Cage join AEW?
Following his stellar career in WWE which was split by a stay in TNA, Christian Cage became All Elite when he debuted for Tony Khan’s company at Revolution in March 2021.
Cage went on an early undefeated streak in the company and on the first-ever episode of Rampage, he defeated Kenny Omega for the IMPACT World Championship. Unfortunately for Cage, he was unable to repeat the feat just weeks later at All Out for the AEW World Title.
