WWE Saw Kenny Omega As Equal To Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar If He Had Signed

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega would have been a top star in WWE if he signed for the rival promotion.

Omega and the rest of The Elite have chosen to remain in AEW, with all members of the group signing new multi-year deals with the promotion. The decision was not an easy one, with it being reported that Omega, Page and The Young Bucks did go back and forth on who their next employer would be.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former AEW Champion would have been presented as a top talent in WWE, being featured with main eventers such as Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and the Superstar who already made the jump from AEW to WWE, Cody Rhodes.

While Omega would be seen as a top wrestler on Raw or SmackDown, he wouldn’t be the top wrestler. The multiple surgeries and lengthy absence from the ring has been noted by those in Titan Towers, who felt that the better option for the best in-ring wrestler in the long term would be Seth Rollins, due to the durability of The Visionary.

Why Didn’t Kenny Omega Sign With WWE?

The Executive Vice President of AEW recently gave an interview following the news that he would remain in the promotion. Omega stated that creative freedom and elevating previously unknown talent played a big factor in signing a new contract.

Looking to further elevate talent in the near future, Omega looks set to face off against another rising star in the company at the upcoming All In pay-per-view on Sunday, August 27th.
