AEW Star Seriously Injured And Stretchered Out At Forbidden Door After Vicious Attack
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door ended on a happy note, until disaster struck, that is.
The main event of the pay-per-view saw Golden Lovers, Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Will Ospreay take on Death Riders, The Young Bucks, and Gabe Kidd in a cage match.
Even before the match began, AEW issued a warning that the match was unsanctioned and that any activity carried out inside the cage was not the company’s fault.
The match was fought in a true hardcore sense, with multiple equipment introduced throughout, leaving Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, and Jon Moxley bloodied.
The babyfaces ultimately triumphed by executing a sequence of moves on The Young Bucks, with Tanahashi pinning Matt Jackson after a splash.
Will Ospreay Brutally Attacked After AEW Main Event
Will Ospreay celebrated the win with his home crowd.
However, the Death Riders duo of Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli attacked the 32-year-old star, hitting as many as 5 DDTs on him between them.
The attack was followed by them putting a chair around Ospreay’s neck and Moxley stomping on it.
All this while, other wrestlers struggled to get inside the cage, with many arriving from backstage to unsuccessfully interject.
AEW is expected to provide an update on Ospreay’s condition soon.
The Death Riders are trying to take @WillOspreay out for good!
