AEW Dynamite “Redone At The Last Minute”
AEW Dynamite was hastily rewritten due to recent events.
Dynamite was AEW’s first show since All In at Wembley Stadium and saw Orange Cassidy hang on to his International Championship against Penta El Zero M, meaning that he will move on to All Out where he will defend the gold again against Jon Moxley.
The night also saw new title belts unveiled as The Acclaimed surprised Daddy Ass Billy Gunn with pink Trios Championship belts which come complete with ends that scissor. However, Wednesday’s show was subject to several last-minute changes due to people being unable to attend.
Tony Khan forced into changes for AEW Dynamite
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Dynamite had to have last-minute changes made due to recent events outside of the wrestling world:
“You know that a lot of tonight’s show was redone at the last minute? Saraya and Swerve were pulled from the show due to illness reasons. I know that a bunch of the Florida guys, including Omega, couldn’t make it because of the hurricane, they couldn’t make it out to come to Chicago.
“I know that Jericho was there, I know there were concerns but he was there. That was one of the reasons why the show seemed thrown together because it was thrown together.”
Chris Jericho had an even more active role to play on Rampage which followed Dynamite as he may well be changing focus in his career once again. The full Rampage spoilers can be found here.
