AEW Contacts Recently-Departed WWE Star

Tony Khan AEW All In Texas

AEW’s trend of approaching released WWE talents continues.

According to a report by Fightful, Zayda Steel was contacted by the Tony Khan-led company in October.

On the 9th of that month, Steel, a WWE ID talent, took to X to discuss her wrestling future, confirming that she had decided against renewing her contract with the Stamford promotion.

The 22-year-old star thanked the promotion for the opportunity, claiming that she was just getting started.

I’ve decided not to renew my WWE ID contract. I’m incredibly grateful for all the knowledge, experience, and opportunities I’ve gained along the way, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me. I’m only 21, and have already done so much, but I’m just getting started! Thank you ❤️

Whether or not she appears in AEW remains to be seen. Steel has remained active in the meantime by competing in the indies.

Ex-WWE Stars Walk Out Of AEW After Dispute

Nixon Newell debuted in AEW on the October 25 taping of Collision alongside Miranda Alize and confronted Anna Jay and Tay Melo backstage.

A week later, they were featured in a loss bout against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.

On the November 8 episode of the show, the duo was scheduled to face Jay and Melo again in a losing cause.

Newell and Alize did not respond positively to losing on two consecutive weeks, resulting in a dispute. They left the AEW show one hour before the taping, resulting in Hyan and Maya World stepping up.

A later report by Fightful Select suggested that while Newell and Alize did not expect to win, they were opposed to the supposed three-minute mark allotted for their bout.

Alize took to X to break her silence on the issue.
