Nixon Newell Breaks Silence Following AEW Walk Out
Nixon Newell has hit back after she and Miranda Alize left AEW Collision.
After making their debut as a team on the October 25 edition of Collision, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize climbed into the ring to face Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne. When all was said and done, Shafir and Bayne picked up the win in under two and a half minutes.
On November 8, Newell and Alize were set to compete for a second time against Anna Jay and Tay Melo, but the match never made it to the ring. Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize reportedly refused to lose for a second week in a row and left the taping.
They were quickly replaced by Hyan and Maya World, who did the honors as required. Hyan and Maya World “earned points” backstage for stepping up at such short notice.
A subsequent report claimed there were issues during a previous appearance, and there was a level of surprise that Newell and Alize were brought back.
A further update from Fightful Select stated that Newell and Alize didn’t expect to win the match, but they wanted more than the allocated three minutes for the bout.
Nixon Newell Responds
With speculation running wild, Nixon Newell has posted a response on social media, writing, “Not everything you read is true. Remember that.” For her part, Alize wrote on her own account, “We have SOOOOOOOO much to say ……………”
Newell is best known for her two spells with WWE between 2017 & 2021 and 2022 & 2024, where she competed as Tegan Nox. Alize had worked with AEW previously, competing on the company’s old YouTube show Dark.
It should be noted that neither Newell nor Alize are believed to be under contract with AEW.
