AEW Absences Expected From TV

Some absences could be noticed on AEW television in the coming weeks.

AEW is flying high after breaking huge records with All In at Wembley Stadium but as usual backstage drama has threatened to overshadow what should be the biggest week in the company’s history.

CM Punk was again reported to be involved in a backstage altercation, this time with Jack Perry who was seemingly unhappy with news leaking that Punk had stopped him from using real glass in a spot on Collision. Perry was clearly remembering that during his pre-show bout with HOOK at All In when the two men went crashing through a car windscreen Perry had used for his entrance.

The former FTW Champion then got up close to the camera and stated that it was real glass and “cry me a river” in a pointed jab at Punk. There was said to be a physical confrontation backstage afterward between the two men with varying reports on who did what and who initiated things but it has ended with a belief that both men are now suspended while an investigation takes place putting the two men’s status for All Out in doubt.

More AEW absences expected

While Perry and Punk might not appear on AEW television in the foreseeable future, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has reported that Tony Khan has granted time off for talent wishing to attend the funeral service of Bray Wyatt whenever it takes place.

The wrestling world was saddened when the news emerged that Windham Rotunda – best known as Bray Wyatt in WWE – had passed away on the 24th of August following a heart attack. Different stars such as FTR and The House of Black paid tribute to Wyatt at All In.
