Absent Ex-AEW World Champion Expected Back Soon
An absent AEW star is expected to return soon to TV.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s last appearance was at the All Out pay-per-view in September, where he faced Mark Briscoe in a Table ‘N Tacks match.
Their feud, which was already personal, took a violent turn when MJF prevented Briscoe from defeating Konosuke Takeshita on the September 6 edition of AEW Collision.
The duo brawled when Maxwell told Briscoe to name his time, place, and stipulation for a match. While the latter said he wanted a match at All Out, he did not reveal the stipulation until a week later.
MJF, who had only gotten married 24 hours ago, also cut a brutal promo about ending Mark Briscoe.
As expected, their bout was brutal, with MJF dominating the first half and Briscoe taking on a similar role in the second half. It lasted almost 20 minutes before Briscoe hit the Jay Driller on his opponent for the pinfall.
Tony Khan Discusses MJF’s AEW Return
AEW President Tony Khan recently appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he discussed a variety of subjects.
Khan also addressed MJF’s absence since All Out, hoping that his return was just around the corner. He also praised the 29-year-old star for his in-ring work and contributions outside of it.
I expect Max to be back hopefully very soon. Max is somebody who has been a huge part of why this has been a great year and even though he hasn’t been available every single week, I think he’s done some really great things in and out of the ring this year… [H/T: Fightful]
