“A Lot Of AEW Talent Unhappy” About CM Punk’s Return
CM Punk has not been seen in AEW since All Out in September 2022 but all that could be about to change this summer with the former AEW World Champion set to be the centerpiece of a new Saturday night show.
The existence of that show or Punk’s return has not yet been officially announced by the company but a new report suggests that many talents in AEW must already be aware as they might be kept apart from Punk.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed that AEW has not officially acknowledged the new Saturday show but people must know due to the situation surrounding CM Punk’s presence on it:
“People have to know because the deal is a lot of the talent is going to be staying on Wednesday and a lot is going to be staying on Saturday. The other aspect of it is a lot of talent is unhappy about Punk being back so they’ve been told ‘you don’t have to worry about it because he’s gonna be one show and you’re gonna be on one show’ but they’re still unhappy.”
There were reports that many talents in AEW were left in “disbelief” after CM Punk made a brief backstage visit to WWE Raw in Chicago – a show that he apparently flew to alongside several WWE Superstars.
