6’8″ Giant Wins First Singles Match In 3 Months On WWE SmackDown
A WWE behemoth won their first singles match in three months on SmackDown.
On the November 7 episode of the blue brand, Talla Tonga faced Rey Fenix after their confrontation backstage last week.
After their few encounters in the past, Fenix seemingly grew tired of the MFT and decided to do something about it, and he felt the natural way to do this was to go for the biggest guy in the faction.
So, he not only challenged Talla but also slapped him before disappearing. Talla wrestled in a singles match in August when he defeated Jimmy Uso on WWE SmackDown.
During their match, Fenix was obviously at a disadvantage, measuring 5’9″ as compared to Tonga’s 6’8″ frame.
As expected, the MFT stablemate dominated their match, with Rey getting a few hits, although none were as impactful.
Even before the match began, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and JC Mateo were taken out of the equation by Shinsuke Nakamura and the Motor City Machine Guns.
However, that did not do much for Fenix, as Talla Tonga got the best of him by hitting a chokeslam for the pinfall.
After the match, Solo Sikoa instructed him to beat Fenix up some more, but Sami Zayn prevented that.
New Champion Crowned On WWE SmackDown
The latest SmackDown episode also saw a championship change hands.
Women’s United States Champion Giulia defended her belt against Chelsea Green. While the Japanese star was her ruthless self, Green managed to sneak a roll before putting her feet on the rope for a cheat pinfall.
Unfortunately for Giulia, the referee did not see the illegal tactic used by the Canadian wrestler, awarding her the match and the championship.
After the match, Green celebrated with her stablemate Alba Fyre and WWE NXT North American Champion Ethan Page.
