A 55-year-old WWE great has confirmed re-signing with the promotion.

Chavo Guerrero is a multi-time tag team champion in the Stamford-based company and is also a one-time former ECW Champion under its banner.

He was released in 2011 after a 10-year tenure, after which he competed in the indies. He has also appeared in minor acting roles on the silver screen and various TV shows.

Guerrero had two stints with Total Nonstop Action before appearing on AEW and Ring of Honor between 2021 and 2022.

As of 2025, he has confirmed being back with WWE. He was spotted at the Worlds Collide: Las Vegas event in September, sparking speculations about rejoining his former employer.

During an interview with American journalist Bill Apter, Chavo Guerrero revealed that he was helping out with AAA shows and more.

Guerrero last wrestled in September in Three Legacies Wrestling, where he teamed up with Ricardo Rodriguez, beating the Nice And Smooth duo of Tom Mitchell and Trace Parker.

WWE’s Long-Term Plan With AAA

In April this year, WWE announced the acquisition of AAA Lucha Libre, a Mexican wrestling promotion.

Since then, both companies have jointly organized multiple supercard events, paving the way for cross-promotion of talents.

While explaining how the Stamford promotion plans to utilize AAA, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer wrote:

The idea is to align AAA style closer to WWE style, and the idea is to use AAA as the Mexican feeder system for NXT, similar to the idea they had for NXT U.K. Essentially, this becomes NXT Mexico.

This will give the AAA stars the chance to get acquainted with the American style of wrestling instead of having to be taught after they join NXT.
