3 Major WWE Stars Named As Potential Triple H Replacements
One WWE Hall of Famer thinks three major names could be in the running to replace Triple H at the very top of the company.
Since Vince McMahon was forced to resign from WWE once and for all, there has been one undisputed leader of the company’s creative direction – Triple H. While he was lauded for his early work, Triple H’s creative strategy has come under stark criticism in recent months.
Questions have been asked over who one day might take over as Chief Content Officer, with current in-ring stars Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk all being named as potential successors.
Triple H Grooming His Successor In WWE?
Speaking on Something To Wrestle, JBL confirmed that he could imagine those names one day taking over from Triple H, but cautioned that he thinks The Game has a lot left in the tank:
Triple H is pretty young. He could be there quite a while, but yeah, I think all three of those guys could do a great job with it. I’ve told you many times, when you walk into a wrestler’s meeting, they’re going over a finish, going over an angle or storyline or something, there’s always one guy that talks.
You just have certain respect and a certain guy has the acumen that everybody cedes to him. These three guys are those guys. I think they all do a wonderful job. They’re all smart guys. It’s a tough job. They all have the intelligence to do it.
JBL followed up by noting that Triple H might have had one significant advantage over anyone following in his footsteps:
I think Triple H has a huge lead on these guys, but what Vince did for Triple H, Triple H could do for one of these guys.
It’s been claimed in recent days that Triple H wants to be seen as WWE’s answer to UFC president Dana White. White has long been the face and well-known boss of the MMA company and garners more mainstream attention than many of his fighters.
