The John Report: WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 Review

WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 Review

This is WWE NXT No Mercy, featuring title defenses from Oba Femi, Jacy Jayne, Ethan Page, Sol Ruca, and a Weaponized Steel Cage Match.

NXT No Mercy is the sixth NXT PLE of the year. They have six matches scheduled for the show.

Before the show, it was announced that Lainey Reid is out of the Women’s Speed Title match against Sol Ruca, but Sol will be in action against another opponent.

The NXT brand made its presence felt at TNA Victory Road on Friday as Kelani Jordan won the TNA Knockouts Title just like Jacy Jayne had done earlier this year. Anyway, it’s time for No Mercy. Let’s get to it.

WWE NXT No Mercy
From FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Saturday, September 27, 2025

There was some superstar pre-show walking shown of Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne with Fallon Henley, Jordynne Grace, Blake Monroe, Ricky Saints, and Oba Femi.

A video package aired to set up the show. Great video as usual.

The commentary team was the usual NXT duo of Vic Joseph and Booker T.

Je’Von Evans vs. Josh Briggs

There was a ramp connecting the entrance to the ring, so no dives on the floor on that part of the ring. They will likely do the dives on the other sides of the ring.

They did a spot near the ropes, and it looked like Evans’ right leg/hip got caught in the ropes. Briggs sent Evans over the barricade, but Evans recovered and sent Briggs into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Evans hit a springboard cross body block. Evans hit a hurricanrana, along with a dropkick. Briggs caught Evans and tackled him into the turnbuckle. Briggs gave Evans a hiptoss across the ring. Briggs stood on Evans’s back to cause some more pain. Evans bounced off the ropes and got a rollup for two, but Evans came back with a backbreaker. Evans hit another backbreaker onto the knee for two. Briggs sent Evans hard into the turnbuckle. Evans came back with an elbow to the face, along with some punches. Evans kicked Briggs in the head, followed by a punch. Evans wanted a move off the ropes, but Briggs shoved him off the apron and crashed back-first into the barricade. Briggs hit a sidewalk slam, but Evans avoided a splash. Evans bounced off the ropes and hit a German Suplex. Evans tried two clotheslines that didn’t move Briggs much, so Evans hit a superkick and a running clothesline. Evans hit a spinning kick to the head. Evans punched Briggs so that he was against the turnbuckle, and then Briggs left the ring and hit the floor. Evans jumped off the top with a cross body block on Briggs on the floor.

Evans went up top and hit a Frog Splash about 60% across the ring for a two count. The fans bought that as a nearfall. Briggs came back with a lariat to the back for a two count. Evans got a sunset flip for two. Evans hit a superkick and forearm, but then Briggs came back with an elbow smash, along with a boot to the face. Briggs hit a backbreaker onto the knee. Briggs flipped Evans over and hit a knee to the face for a two count. Briggs pulled up Evans to the top rope. Briggs went for a Chokeslam-style move, but Evans did a backflip. Evans hit a kick to the jaw (I don’t think he touched him, but the leg slap helps), but a springboard attack didn’t work because Briggs hit him with a Chokeslam for two. Evans sent Briggs out of the ring, but Briggs caught a leaping Evans and hit a clothesline. Briggs hit a Clothesline from Hell like JBL for two and Evans’ right foot was on the ropes during the pin attempt. Evans teased a move off the turnbuckle, but Evans fought back with some shoving and slaps to the face. Evans hit a jumping kick. Evans went for a springboard attack, but Briggs kicked. Briggs went for a Chokeslam, and Evans countered it with a Cutter! Wow. Evans went up top and jumped off with the OG Cutter for the pinfall win at 16:29.

Winner by pinfall: Je’Von Evans

Analysis: **** The match was great. Four stars. It was a bit better than the Evans/Zayn match on SmackDown because they got some more time, and I loved the story. It went how I thought it would go, with Briggs in control for a lot of the match until Evans found a way to make a comeback. Briggs dominated a lot of the match, and his offense looks great, so the way Evans sold for everything was believable. Evans is so talented, and I’m glad he got the win because he needs PLE wins like this. I have written for weeks that I think Evans losing to Oba Femi at Heatwave was done to set up another match for Evans going after the NXT Title, and I think Evans will get the title, perhaps at Halloween Havoc or another show.

A commercial aired promoting WrestleMania 42 tickets on sale.

There was a video showing an NXT No Mercy classic from 2023 with Trick Williams facing Dominik Mysterio. Trick beat Dominik to win the NXT North American Title. I assume they showed this to us on Netflix while Peacock in the US was showing ads.

They showed the end of NXT last Tuesday when Mike Santana and Trick Williams fought in the ring, followed by male and female wrestlers from NXT and TNA. It was a wild brawl to end the show.

A clip was shown of Kelani Jordan winning the vacant TNA Knockouts Title at Victory Road. There was a promo from Jordan about how happy she was to be the champion.

Sol Ruca made her entrance with Zaria for the Women’s Speed Championship match. Sol is also the NXT Women’s North American Champion. No Lainey Reid against Sol. It was Jaida Parker as the opponent and she got a big reaction.

Women’s Speed Championship: Sol Ruca (w/Zaria) vs. Jaida Parker

There is a 5-minute time limit for the match. If there’s no decision, then the champion retains. The non-title matches have a 3-minute time limit.

Sol and Parker each got pin attempts early. There was a clock counting down from 5 minutes on the screen. Sol kicked Parker out of the ring. Sol jumped off the steel steps with a somersault dive onto Parker on the floor. Parker blocked a slide by Sol, and Parker punched Sol in the face. Sol used both feet to hit Parker in the back. Parker trapped Sol against the turnbuckle and Parker hit a hip drop by the ropes. Parker hit a Falcon Arrow for two. Sol countered Parker and missed a backbreaker, so she just covered Parker. Sol hit a knee that knocked Parker out of the ring by the ramp. Parker punched Sol back into the ring. There were 2 minutes left as Sol countered Parker with a DDT for two. Parker caught Sol on her back and hit a Samoan Drop. Sol did a necksnap across the top rope. There were 60 seconds left as Sol sent Parker into the steel steps. Sol went for a moonsault, but Parker moved and Parker hit Hipnotic on the floor. Parker sent Sol into the ring and Parker shoved Zaria. Lash Legend showed up, Parker avoided her and Zaria hit a Spear on Lash on the floor. Sol recovered in the ring, and when Parker went into the ring, Sol hit a Soul Snatcher off the turnbuckle for the pinfall win at 4:48.

Winner by pinfall: Sol Ruca

Analysis: **3/4 It was a fun match for the time given. These matches are tough to rate because the wrestlers are limited in the time they get, but as long as you do some creative spots and make it interesting, the fans are going to be into it. Parker hit her Hipnotic finisher on the floor, but then she focused on Zaria, which also led to Lash Legend showing up, and all of that allowed Sol to recover. The Soul Snatcher remains one of the coolest finishers in WWE.

There was a commercial for Survivor Series

A video aired about the Evolve show on Wednesdays, and it led into some promos from wrestlers on the show. I don’t watch it, so I won’t recap it.

Joe Hendry was interviewed at NXT last Tuesday after he lost in a tag team match against Darkstate. Joe said he appreciated what Darkstate stands for. Darkstate’s four-man group said when they see him, it’s on sight with a four-way beatdown. They said that when Darkstate strikes, nobody is safe. Joe said it was interesting that you are either with them or against them.

The Blake Monroe-Jordynne Grace Weaponized Steel Cage match was next, so a video package aired to set it up. Blake won at Heatwave last month, but the feud continued after that.

Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe

A steel cage surrounded the ring. There were weapons hanging from the side of the cage. It’s pinfall or submission only. No “escape the cage” win option.

It started out as a slugfest as Grace sent Blake into the cage. Grace grabbed a pink steel chair, Blake avoided it and Blake used a kendo stick to hit Grace in the back a few times. Grace got the kendo stick and hit Blake in the back with it. Grace gave Blake a spinebuster onto a steel chair. Grace trapped Blake and applied a Boston Crab while Grace sat down on a chair on Blake, but Blake broke free. Grace set up a chair against the turnbuckle, Grace charged, Blake moved and Grace went crashing into the chair. Blake sent Grace into the cage. Blake sent Grace into the cage. Grace had an injured hand and wrist, so Blake grinded it against the cage. Blake hit Grace in the back with a trash can. Blake used a kendo stick on Grace’s hand. Blake used the kendo stick to slam Grace into the mat for two. Blake had a hair dryer and used the cord to tie Grace to the middle rope. Blake got a pair of scissors from her glamour bag. Blake cut some of Grace’s long hair while Grace was tied to the middle rope. That drew boos from the crowd, while Grace was sad about it. Grace managed to break free from the ropes, and she hit a forearm to the back. Grace attacked Blake with a Thesz Press and punches, along with two clotheslines. Grace went for a Powerbomb, but Blake climbed the cage to the top rope, so Grace tripped up Blake on the top rope. Grace gave Blake a Samoan Drop off the top rope for two. Grace tried a move onto a trash can, but Blake countered it to send Grace into the trash can. Blake dropkicked a trash can into Grace. Blake hit a running knee into the cage for two because Grace had her foot on the ropes. It’s a match where anything goes, but rope breaks are also a thing, apparently. Blake dumped out a bag of diamonds. Grace fought back and suplexed Blake onto the diamonds, or at least some of the diamonds. Grace covered for two.

They battled by the turnbuckle, where Blake tripped up Grace, who was upside down. Blake put a trash can on Grace’s head, and Blake hit a double foot stomp onto the trash can that was on Grace, which got a two count. Blake wanted to set up the table as she stomped on Grace’s right hand. Grace sent Blake into the cage a few times and Grace sent Blake into the cage. Grace set up the table in the ring. Grace went to the top turnbuckle, Blake was on her shoulders and Blake sent Grace’s head into the cage a few times. Blake and Grace were on top of the steel cage where they exchanged chops. Blake threw some powder in Grace’s eye while Grace had a crowbar in her hand. They were on the top rope, Blake tried a lifting move, but Grace countered and had Blake on her back. Grace hit an Air Raid Crash off the top and through the table in the ring, which was near the diamonds in the ring. Grace landed on top of Blake for the pinfall win. It went 16:12.

Winner by pinfall: Jordynne Grace

Analysis: ***3/4 It was a physical match with a lot of creative weapon spots throughout the match. Both women deserve a lot of credit for taking some big bumps and they did a nice job of bringing the intensity throughout the match. They set up the finish well with the top rope move by Grace that put Blake through the table. I picked Grace to win because it made sense for the story since Blake turned on Grace, so having Grace win might put an end to the rivalry. They didn’t do a lot of bumps into the diamonds, which was probably smart, although they were nearby when both women went crashing through the table.

A commercial aired for Salt Lake City hosting SmackDown on Halloween and Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

There was a commercial for the next NXT PLE – Halloween Havoc on October 25th.

The NXT General Manager, Ava, was seated in her office talking about the TNA wrestlers invading NXT. Ava said she talked to TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella. Ava said that on October 7th, they will have an NXT-TNA Invasion show with two Survivor Series-style matches (one for men and women). Teams will be announced this Tuesday. They will also have NXT Tag Team Champions Darkstate facing TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz in a Title for Title match at NXT-TNA Invasion. She also announced Oba Femi against Trick Williams, where there must be a winner.

Analysis: That’s a big announcement for the October 7th episode of NXT. That should be a fun one.

Lash Legend did a promo on the stage, saying she didn’t mind taking the Spear from Zaria because it cost Jaida Parker the match. Lash said that she should lead the NXT women’s team. Lash said that Jaida Parker would know because she beat Parker the last time they had a match. Jaida Parker showed up, and she fought with Lash. They exchanged punches and then security was there to break it up.

Analysis: That Lash-Jaida feud must continue. Good. They are both very talented.

Lainey Reid was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid. Reid showed she was hurt during training yesterday and she was ruled out. Reid was shown with a boot on her left foot. Reid said that the Speed Title will be hers. Lola Vice walked up to Reid, saying she felt bad for her, and Reid said that Vice is going to lose tonight. Vice threatened to break Reid’s leg and said she’s going to win tonight in Vice City. Lola left.

An NXT No Mercy Classic video was shown of the 2024 show with Ethan Page facing Joe Hendry while Trick Williams was the referee. Page got the win to keep the NXT Title.

NXT North American Championship: Ethan Page vs. Tavion Heights

They exchanged shoulder tackles and neither guy got the advantage, so Page connected with some punches. Heights came back with forearms to the back. Heights dropkicked Page out of the ring to the ramp. Heights left the ring, so Page hit a back body drop onto the ramp. Page hit Heights with shoulder tackles to the back. Page hit a belly-to-back suplex for two. Heights went for a suplex, but Page countered with a suplex as Heights continued to sell the back injury. Page countered a Heights kick, and Page hit a jumping kick while they were by the turnbuckle. Page gave Heights a backbreaker onto the top turnbuckle, so Heights was screaming in pain while on the floor. The referee, Gary Wilson, checked on Heights, who said he wanted to keep going. Page posed on the apron, so Heights got back into the ring and unloaded with punches, along with two clotheslines. Heights hit a boot to the face, along with a slam, sending Page into the mat. Heights rolled through, put Page on his shoulders, and Heights applied an Ankle Lock, but Page crawled to the bottom ropes to break it. Page got rollup for two and Heights got a rollup for two. Heights hit a backslide pin. Page hit a kick to the head. Page hit Ego’s Edge, and Page followed up with a Boston Crab, but Heights got to the ropes. Heights went to the turnbuckle, Page went after him and Page grabbed Tavion’s hair. Page hit a powerslam off the middle turnbuckle. Page got back up and hit the Twisted Grin move, which is like a Cutter, and it was enough for the pinfall win. It went 10:22.

Winner by pinfall: Ethan Page

Analysis: ***1/4 A good match to put over Ethan Page as a crafty veteran who wore Heights down throughout the match. I liked the finishing sequence with the powerslam off the middle turnbuckle, which led to Page hitting the Twisted Grin for the win. I think they could have done a better job of making it look like Heights had a shot to win because there wasn’t a great nearfall for him in the match. In my preview, I wrote that I think Myles Borne is more likely to be a young guy to take the title off Page. I don’t mind Heights, but he doesn’t have the connection with the crowd yet, and he needs to keep working at it.

El Hijo Del Wagner Jr. was shown on screen with the AAA Latin American Championship. Wagner said he has eyes on Page’s NXT North American Title. Wagner said he’d see Page real soon.

There were commercials for NXT Shop and the WWE 2K25 video game.

Myles Borne was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid. Borne said it felt great to put Lexis King in the rearview. Borne said that he gave King the beatdown that he deserved. Borne said that NXT is his family, so he’ll go to war for them against TNA’s team. Borne said if TNA shows up on Tuesday, they’ll defend the house.

TNA’s Mike Santana said that Trick Williams has a big problem and NXT has an even bigger problem. Santana said that TNA Championship is being held hostage, but Mike said he’ll take the title and bring it home where it belongs. Mike said that he’s not the only one who is pissed off. Santana said that on Tuesday, he is coming back to TNA, and he’s not coming alone.

They also showed a tweet from TNA’s Frankie Kazarian saying he’ll be at NXT too.

The NXT Women’s Title match was next, so we saw Lola Vice and champion Jacy Jayne, with Fallon Henley, walking backstage for their match up next.

An NXT No Mercy classic was shown from 2024 when Roxanne Perez beat Jaida Parker.

Lola Vice made her entrance first. Her family was at ringside, so she hugged them. Lola is from the Miami area, so Fort Lauderdale is close to home. The NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne was next with Fallon Henley. Jazmyn Nyx is no longer part of WWE, so the group has just two women, at least for now. Jayne has been champion for 122 days and it’s her 4th title defense.

NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne (w/Fallon Henley) vs. Lola Vice

Jayne was in control early on with a side headlock on the mat. Jayne hit a senton splash. Vice countered a hip toss and applied an armbar, but Jayne countered it into a pin attempt and that got a two count. Vice did a hiptoss, followed by a drop toe hold and a kick to the back. Vice was looking at Henley, so Jayne worked over Vice with kicks against the turnbuckle. Vice ran the ropes and punched Jayne in the gut. Vice hit a suplex for two. Jayne hit a jawbreaker, but Vice rolled through with a rollup for two. Vice kicked Jayne in the ribs a few times, along with a spin kick that knocked Jayne out of the ring. Vice sent Jayne into the commentary table. Henley distracted Vice, so Jayne sent Vice into the steel steps. Jayne hit a cannonball on Vice against the steel steps. Jayne tackled Vice into the apron a few times. Jayne hit a jumping neckbreaker for a two count. Jayne hit a suplex for two. Vice blocked a kick and Vice kicked Jayne a few times. Henley distracted Vice, so Jayne hit a Backstabber for a two count. Jayne hit a running elbow for a two count. Jayne grabbed a chinlock until Vice broke free. Jayne got a rollup on Vice for two. Vice avoided a corner charge and Vice hit some kicks. Vice hit three kicks to the body. Vice kicked Jayne repeatedly. Vice did her, “I’m a Latina,” yell leading to the running hip attack. Vice hit a belly-to-back suplex. Jayne slipped out of the ring to avoid back fist. Vice dove onto Henley on the floor. Jayne followed up with a pump kick to knock Vice down.

They were back in the ring where Vice hit a spin kick to knock Jayne down. I think Vice barely touched her. Vice covered for a two count because Henley pulled the referee out of the ring. The referee ejected Henley from ringside. Jayne tried a rollup for two. Vice came back with a Rear Naked Choke submission, but Jayne countered it, and Vice had to let go at the two count or else Vice would have been pinned. Jayne punched Vice a few times and a back fist by Jayne got a two count. Jayne hit a superkick to keep Vice down. Jayne worked over Vice with elbows to the head. Jayne taunted Vice’s family. Vice hit an elbow, along with a DDT off the middle turnbuckle. Vice applied a Guillotine Choke, but then Jayne got back up and tackled Vice into the turnbuckle. Vice worked over Jayne with kicks to the body. Vice went up top slowly, so Jayne kicked her with a jumping kick. Jayne hit a belly-to-back suplex off the top and a running knee for a two count. Jayne grabbed the NXT Women’s Title, the referee took it from her and Vice rolled up Jayne for a two count. Vice rolled up Jayne again for two. Jayne superkicked Vice in the left arm. Vice hit a superkick of her own. Jayne hit a forearm to the jaw and Vice hit her spinning back fist, but Vice bumped to the floor after that. A wrestler in a black outfit and a hoodie was at ringside and they kicked Vice to knock her down. The referee never saw it. Vice barely got in before the referee’s ten count. Jayne hit the Rolling Encore forearm on Vice for the pinfall win at 18:35.

Winner by pinfall: Jacy Jayne

Analysis: ***1/4 This was a solid title match, and it felt like the right time for a title change, but that didn’t happen as Lola Vice lost in front of her hometown crowd. The finish was a cheap one, as usual, for Jacy Jayne because she benefited from some mysterious ally in a hoodie, and we don’t know who it is yet, but it could be a new member of Fatal Influence. There have been rumors that Lainey Reid could be joining the group, so that would make sense if it were her. I picked Vice to win, but now that she failed, I think Jordynne Grace is probably going to be the one to beat Jayne for the title.

A commercial aired for WWE Crown Jewel on October 11th in Australia.

There was a commercial for WWE LFG Season 2’s season finale. I didn’t watch this season.

There was another commercial promoting Halloween Havoc on October 25th.

A video was shown from TNA’s Moose talking about the NXT-TNA Invasion on October 7th. Moose said that they’ll cause more cause on NXT this week. Mustafa Ali also posted on X about it.

This Tuesday on NXT:

* Lash Legend vs. Jaida Parker

* Ava and Santino choose their teams for NXT/TNA Invasion

It was time for the NXT No Mercy with Oba Femi defending the NXT Title against Ricky Saints. A video package aired to set it up.

Ricky Saints was up first as the challenger for the NXT Title, and the fans loved him as usual. The dominant NXT Champion Oba Femi was next with the fans shouting during his entrance and catchy song. Ring announcer Mike Rome did the championship introductions.

NXT Championship: Oba Femi vs. Ricky Saints

Femi tried to use his power early on, but Ricky got a rollup for two. Femi hit an uppercut using his 310 pounds of power to work over his smaller opponent. Femi hit a body slam for just a one count. Ricky hit some chops to the chest. Femi went for a suplex, but Ricky landed on his feet and hit a running kick to the head. Femi charged, Ricky moved and Femi hit the turnbuckle. Ricky tried a rope walk, but Femi caught him and went for a slam. Ricky slipped out and hit a dropkick. Ricky hit a running knee to knock Femi out of the ring. Ricky charged, but Femi stopped him with a forearm to the head. Femi stomped on Ricky. Femi hit two backbreakers, the fans wanted another one and Femi hit a third backbreaker for two. Femi nailed Ricky with an elbow to the jaw. Ricky got back into the ring, so Femi suplexed Ricky ribs-first across the top rope. Femi hit an uppercut on Ricky. Femi applied a chinlock, Ricky got out of that and hit a jawbreaker. Ricky charged, Femi caught him and hit another backbreaker. Ricky broke free with an elbow, but Femi caught him and hit a Chokeslam for a two count. Ricky got a rollup for two. Ricky hit a jumping knee and Ricky did a rope walk, leading to a forearm smash. Ricky hit three forearms in a row to knock Femi down. Ricky connected with a Samoan Drop for two. Femi sent Ricky into the air and Ricky hit an enziguri. Ricky went for a Spear, but Femi avoided it. Femi launched Ricky into the air and hit a European Uppercut. Ricky slipped out of a move and Ricky hit a Spear for a two count.

They went to the turnbuckle, where Ricky tried a sunset flip Powerbomb, but Femi held on. Ricky walked away from the turnbuckle and hit a Powerbomb for a two count. Ricky unloaded with forearms and a slap to the face, but Femi hit a clothesline. Femi tried a lifting move and Ricky countered for a two count. Femi tossed Ricky across the ring. Ricky hit a hurricanrana to counter a move for a two count. Femi hit a jumping kick to the head. Both guys were down selling as the fans chanted “NXT” for them. The fans also chanted, “This is awesome,” and I agree. Femi cleared off the commentary table and broke the referee’s count. Femi put Ricky on the commentary table. Femi tried a Powerbomb on the table, but Ricky countered with a DDT on the table. It wasn’t enough to break the table. Ricky hit a Torando DDT on the floor. Ricky charged at Femi, who smacked Ricky hard across the chest. Femi hit Fall From Grace (Popup Powerbomb) for a two count. That’s not a move that a lot of people kick out of. Femi tried Fall From Grace again, but Ricky hit another DDT. Ricky hit a Tornado DDT off the ropes and covered Femi for the one…two…and three! New NXT Champion! It went 17:20.

Winner by pinfall AND NEW NXT Champion: Ricky Saints

Analysis: ***3/4 It was a terrific main event match with both guys getting plenty of offense and it felt like it could go either way. I think Ricky winning is a bit of an upset since Femi was such a dominant champion, but for whatever reason, WWE felt like Ricky was the right guy to take the NXT Title. On that final DDT off the ropes, I don’t think a lot of people expected it to be the finish, but it worked as a big move that Ricky has used plenty of times in his career. I wonder if Oba Femi is going to move on to the main roster sooner rather later, which is why he may have lost here. I like Ricky and I’m happy he won. I didn’t predict it, so kudos to WWE NXT for fooling me on that one.

Ricky Saints posed with the NXT Title in the ring. The fans cheered for him. Ricky was so happy to be holding the NXT Title. That was the end of the show.

This event had a runtime of 2 hours, 41 minutes on Netflix in Canada.

Final Thoughts on WWE NXT No Mercy

I’m going with a 7.5 out of 10.

I liked NXT No Mercy more than I thought I would. I didn’t expect Ricky Saints to beat Oba Femi clean with the NXT Title, so that felt like a surprise to me. It doesn’t really bother me because I think Femi losing could lead to him going to the main roster sooner rather than later, which makes sense since he’s done all you can do in NXT. It just felt a bit weird that Femi kicked out of everything in his matches, yet a Tornado DDT was able to beat him. That’s it? I guess so.

Out of the three women’s matches, I thought the Jordynne Grace-Blake Monroe Weaponized Steel Cage Match was the best of the three. It wasn’t an easy match to do in a cage and with all those weapons around, but they made it work. I thought it was the best match finish of the night with Grace doing an Air Raid Crash on Blake through a table for the win.

The Je’Von Evans-Josh Briggs match is the one I rated the highest because I liked the story of Briggs as the power guy and Evans taking a beating throughout the match, yet he found a way to win. I think Evans is the best babyface in NXT and somebody who will thrive on the main roster too.

Here are my NXT PLE rankings for this year:

Stand & Deliver (April 19) – 8.5 (out of 10)

Vengeance Day (February 15) – 7.75

No Mercy (September 27) – 7.75

The Great American Bash (July 12) – 7.5

Heatwave – 7.25

Battleground (May 25) – 7.25
