The John Report: WWE NXT 11/04/25 Review

WWE NXT November 4

This week’s WWE NXT features a six-woman tag, an Ethan Page-Chelsea Green celebration, and more.

They are doing two NXT Gold Rush shows on November 18th and November 25th, so that’s what they are building to. The NXT Deadline PLE is on December 6th.

I will do a summary style review for most of the show and then play-by-play for one or two matches.

They were at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando for this week’s show. Follow me on Twitter @johnreport, and check out my NXT TV review archive. Let’s get to it.

They showed Ethan Page and Chelsea Green with Alba Fyre walking around prior to the show.

It’s Vic Joseph and Booker T on commentary. Mike Rome was the ring announcer.

The Women’s NXT Champion Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame of The Culling entered for tag team action to start the show. They were joined by Lola Vice going up against Fatal Influence.

Fatal Influence – Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid vs. Tatum Paxley, Izzi Dame & Lola Vice

Jayne was getting attacked by Vice with kicks, btu Jayne hit a big boot to the head. After Reid tagged in, Vice went for an armbar and Reid got out of it. Dame took over control with a dropkick and Paxley tagged in with an elbow drop. Henley smashed Paxley with a forearm, along with a jumping kick to the head. Vice worked over Henley and Reid with kicks. Paxley sent Henley into the turnbuckle and Dame kicked Jayne. Vice and Paxley hit some booty smashes against the turnbuckle, along with some dancing. Dame wasn’t interested in joining them. They went to a break for some fans as the action continued. The Fatal Influence ladies took over and worked over Vice for a few minutes.

Fatal Influence was in control with some quick tags as Jayne hit a running knee smash on Vice for two. Paxley got the hot tag with a double dropkick and suplex. Paxley knocked Henley down with an enziguri kick. Henley was back up to use her feet for a nearfall. Reid cheap shotted Paxley, so Henley did a hair pull takedown for two because Dame made the save. They did a sequence of spots where five women hit moves and then they bumped to the floor. Paxley and Henley clotheslined eachother, so both women were down. Dame made the tag, had some miscommunication with Paxley, who was knocked out of the ring and Jayne hit her Rolling Encore elbow smash on Dame for the pinfall win. The replay showed that Dame moved Paxley out of the way to save her, but it led to Dame taking the elbow from Jayne for the loss. It went about 12 minutes.

Winners by pinfall: Fatal Influence – Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid

Analysis: ***1/4 It was a pretty good tag team match with the heels finding a way to win because Dame did an honorable thing by trying to help her friend Paxley, but it cost Dame the match. Putting over Jayne makes sense because she’s likely going to get an NXT Women’s Title rematch against Paxley, so that win gives Jayne some momentum.

A video aired showing El Grande Americano, along with Rayo and Bravo, in the locker room. Josh Briggs confronted them. Briggs wondered how long Grande could survive against him. Grande said it’s fine with him and he’ll show the NXT Universe who he is. They showed the translations on the screen as Grande spoke. Good job by Kaiser speaking Spanish.

A WrestleMania 42 commercial aired.

There was a clip of Kelani Jordan using the TNA Knockouts Title to beat Jordynne Grace last week.

Lei Ying Lee of TNA was shown in a video where she trashed Kelani Jordan and said she was coming for the Knockouts Title.

They showed Wren Sinclair, Karmen Petrovic, Tyra Mae Steele and Kendal Grey talking about Grey beating Lash Legend last week. Wren spoke about the Wren-QCC doing great. Kelani Jordan spoke to Grey, saying she remembered when she was like her, and Jordan left for a promo.

Let’s Hear from Kelani Jodan

The TNA Knockouts Champion, Kelani Jordan, did a promo saying she did what she had to do to keep the TNA Knockouts Title. Jordan was booed by the fans and she told them to shut up. Jordan said that Dominik Mysterio and Cody Rhodes cheat to win, yet fans cheer them. Jordan said an opportunity came up for this title and she won it on her first night. Jordan said she got kicked out of the locker room and was labeled a traitor by people who thought they were her friends. Jordan said it’s okay for Lola Vice to go to TNA, and we all love that for Lola. Jordan said that she got kicked out of the locker room by women who have accomplished half of what she’s done. Jordan said she’s been a standout since her tryout in Nashville three years ago. Jordan said nobody can keep up with her athletically. Jordan said they know it in the back, and the fans know it. Jordan said they are not loyal.

Jordan bragged about being the most elite athlete to set foot in this ring. Jordan said now she’s public enemy number one because she hit Grace with her title. Jordan said you guys aren’t fans, you are followers. Jordan said it’s her time to be selfish now. Jordan said she’s not defending her title at Gold Rush in New York City because she’s staying home. Jordan said she sings Lei Ying Lee chatting on social media and said she is not on the radar. Jordan said you can call her whatever the hell you want, but one thing that you’re going to call her is champion. Jordan dropped the microphone and left.

Analysis: It was okay for a heel promo. This is a new role for Jordan and it will take some time for her to get used to it. I think she’ll be more comfortable in the ring in the weeks and months ahead, but promo-wise, it feels a bit forced at this point. I will also give Jordan credit for not blaming the fans in the promo like a lot of people do after heel turns. At least in this case, it was more about Jordan blaming other wrestlers for being mean to her, so she did what she had to do to win.

OTM were interviewed by Sarah Schreiber. They talked about how they aren’t going to yell anymore. Chase U’s Urijah Connors and Kale Dixon confronted them, but Andre Chase stopped that situation from escalating. OTM left. Chase was frustrated that Connors and Dixon weren’t listening to him.

Josh Briggs vs. El Grande Americano (w/Rayo & Bravo)

El Grande Americano is the Men’s WWE Speed Champion and it’s Ludwig Kaiser. Rayo and Bravo are Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate.

They are both heels in theory, but Grande was getting cheered. Grande hit a jumping leg lariat. Grande was going for a move off the turnbuckle, but then he saw Jasper Troy in the crowd. Briggs hit a running kick to knock Grande down. They went on a break as Briggs took control for a few minutes.

Briggs was in control during the break and he hit a sidewalk slam for a two count. Briggs set up Grande upside down, which led to Briggs stomping on Grande a few times. Grande came back with a flying shoulder block after a distraction from his buddies. Grande hit running headbutts to the chest. Grande hit an impressive Blockbuster neckbreaker off the turnbuckle. Grande followed up on a suicide dive. Briggs was able to regain control with a clothesline, but then Tavion Heights showed up to distract Briggs, so the Americanos attacked on the floor and hit a double backstabber. Grande pulled back on Briggs’ head neck against the knees and Briggs tapped out. It went about 10 minutes.

Winner by submission: El Grande Americano

Analysis: *** A win for Grande in his first NXT match, thanks to Heights distracting Briggs and the Americanos cheating to help Grande. The fans were into it as they supported Grande throughout the match.

They showed the backstage area where Kelani Jordan trash-talked Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey, but Grey told Wren they should go help Wren get ready for her match. Ava, the NXT GM, spoke to Jordan about what she said regarding Jordan not defending her title at Gold Rush. Jordan said it’s true because she’s the Knockouts Champion, not an NXT Champion. Jordan said that Ava is the GM of NXT, not TNA. Tyra Mae Steele got in Jordan’s face about being disrespectful and Jordan said everybody comes in second place after her. Ava put Tyra in a match with Jordan.

Ricky Saints was walking backstage for his promo up next. Myles Borne said he knows Ricky faces Trick next week in a Last Man Standing Match, but he wanted Ricky to save some for Borne. Ricky was cool with that.

A video aired promoting John Cena on Raw on November 10 in Boston and November 17 in New York City.

A clip was shown of Chelsea Green and Ethan Page winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions on Sunday night in Mexico.

Ricky Saints-Trick Williams Interview

The NXT Champion, Ricky Saints, and challenger Trick Williams were featured in a split-screen interview in the backstage area. Trick said we know Ricky is banged up since Halloween Havoc. Ricky said Trick acts like he can’t handle the pressure. Ricky bragged about beating Trick at Halloween Havoc clean. Ricky said Trick didn’t accept the loss and he took the show hostage. Trick said he’s second to none. Ricky said that Trick doesn’t even care about NXT and has a foot out the door. Ricky spoke about how he’s a person who works hard. Ricky said he knows he can take NXT to heights that Trick failed to do. Trick said that the championship doesn’t belong to somebody like him because Ricky looks like a fan. Trick said that NXT Title belongs to a star like Trick. Trick said that on Tuesday, he’ll be the Last Man Standing. Ricky said he’s done talking and said they need to handle this right now.

Ricky and Trick were shown backstage, where they got into a fight and Trick used a steel pipe to hit Ricky in the ribs. Trick said you don’t want to see this side of Trick, but you will when Trick gets the championship back.

Next week on NXT, Ricky Saints will defend the NXT Title against Trick Williams in a Last Man Standing Match.

Analysis: Good promos from both guys. Ricky is easy to like, while Trick has thrived as a heel. Trick got the advantage with the pipe attack to the ribs, so Ricky might go into the LMS match with a rib injury. I think Ricky winning the LMS match is very likely. Trick will probably be in the Iron Survivor Match in December, not win it and then get called up to the main roster in early 2026. He’s ready.

Zaria made her entrance, joined by Sol Ruca.

A commercial aired for NXT Deadline and the Iron Survivor Matches on December 6th in San Antonio.

(Commercial)

Women’s Speed Championship Tournament Semifinals: Zaria (w/Sol Ruca) vs. Wren Sinclair (w/Kendal Grey)

It’s not much of a tournament with four wrestlers in it. The match has a 3-minute time limit.

Wren and Zaria exchanged pin attempts early on. Wren went for a submission move, pulling on Zaria’s right arm, but Zaria got out of it. Wren got a sunset flip for two. Wren hit a dropkick. Wren hit some chops, but Zaria came back with two clotheslines and a pump kick. Wren took down Zaria by the arm and pulled on the arm. Zaria got out of it and hit a Spear. Zaria put Wren on her shoulders and hit her version of the F5 – called the Zone of Destruction now – for the pinfall win.

Winner by pinfall: Zaria

Analysis: ** It was okay for one of these fast Speed matches. Zaria hit two moves to get the win. Wren got some nearfalls and tried for some submissions with her technical wrestling skills, but Zaria’s power was too much. Zaria winning was the obvious result. I like Wren and want to see her pushed more.

Fallon Henley faces Skyler Raye in the other Women’s Speed Tournament Semifinal match. The winner of that faces Zaria for the Women’s Speed Championship during one of the NXT Gold Rush episodes.

The TNA Knockouts Champion, Kelani Jordan, made her entrance for singles action.

(Commercial)

Kelani Jordan vs. Tyra Mae Steele

This was not for Jordan’s TNA Knockouts Title. Jordan and Tyra exchanged some holds early on. Tyra applied a surfboard submission with her knees against Jordan’s back. They exchanged pin attempts. Jordan kicked Tyra to the apron and sent Tyra into the ring post. Tyra did a comeback with two clotheslines and a toss into the air to send Jordan into the mat. Tyra put Jordan on her back and hit a reverse Angle Slam for two. Jordan sent Tyra into the middle turnbuckle and slammed Tyra down. Jordan hit her One of a Kind split-legged moonsault for the pinfall win after 5 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Kelani Jordan

Analysis: **1/2 A good match for the five minutes they got. Tyra gets better every time I see her, while Jordan is getting used to being a heel champion. The finish was bit flat, but I guess they wanted to have Jordan win clean instead of cheating this time.

Santino Marella, the TNA Director of Authority, appeared in a video message for Kelani Jordan. Santino said that Jordan will defend the TNA Knockouts Title at NXT Gold Rusha against Lei Ying Lee and Jordynne Grace in a triple threat match. Booker didn’t like that.

Analysis: I think Jordan will retain by beating Lee.

Sol Ruca spoke to NXT GM Ava about how she’s making a lot of progress. Sol wanted a match at Gold Rush for the NXT Women’s North American Title and Ava said Sol may not be cleared. Ava said she can’t book the match until Sol is cleared. Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid walked in with Jayne wanting an NXT Women’s Title rematch. Henley and Zaria argued about winning the Speed Title. Ava said that, unfortunately, for all of them, they had to go because Ava had things to do, like talk to Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce about who from NXT is in the John Cena Last Time Is Now tournament.

Analysis: There was a lot going on there, as usual, on NXT. They love segments with a bunch of people on screen delivering one-liners. It sounds like Sol won’t be out for too long, so that’s good.

Je’Von Evans made his entrance for singles action.

(Commercial)

Je’Von Evans vs. Saquon Shugars (w/Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin & Cutler James)

It was a fast start with Evans hitting a dive on the floor and then a knee smash for a two count. Shugars got some offense going with a unique atomic drop. Evans knocked down Shugars with a chop and a running splash. Shugars hit a backbreaker, along with a forearm to the face. Evans did an incredible leap off the turnbuckle and hit a hurricanrana, along with a dropkick to knock Shugars out of the ring. After Shugars went back into the ring, Evans sent him back out with a back body drop and dive onto Shugars. James distracted Evans, so Shugars knocked Evans off the apron to the floor. Shugars was in control as the show went to a break for over three minutes.

The Shugar man was still in control until Evans broke free and kicked Shugars in the mouth. Evans went for a springboard attack, but Shugars avoided it with a sitout suplex and a dropkick for two. Evans did an impressive counter move, leading to a German Suplex. After Lennox pulled his pal Shugars out of the ring, Evans hit a suicide dive on Shugars on the floor. Back in the ring, Evans hit a springboard clothesline and a spinning kick to the head for two. Shugars got a hold of Evans on the turnbuckle and hit a slam into the mat. Evans hit a Cutter and then a springboard Cutter for a two count because Griffin pulled Evans out of the ring. That should be a DQ, but the referee didn’t call for it. Evans avoided attacks from Griffin, James and Lennox. Back in the ring, Evans kicked Shugars. Evans went up top and hit a twisting splash onto Shugars for the pinfall win after 14 minutes.

Winner by pinfall: Je’Von Evans

Analysis: ***1/2 That was a great match. I didn’t expect it to go as long as it did since Shugars is a tag team guy, but it was a fun matchup between two athletic guys. These guys were signed by WWE around the same time and wrestled before that too, so they obviously have a lot of chemistry. I would have liked to see Shugars get a couple of nearfalls before the finish, but otherwise it was well done. Evans is so talented.

Next week on NXT:

* NXT Championship Last Man Standing Match: Ricky Saints vs. Trick Williams

* WWE Speed Championship: El Grande Americano vs. Jasper Troy

The NXT Women’s North American Champion, Blake Monroe, was speaking to NXT GM Ava in the GM’s office. Blake said that she wanted her first title defense to be glamorous in New York City. Ava said that if Sol Ruca s cleared then that will be Blake’s opponent. Blake got a call while claiming her “better half” is asking for an exclusive interview next week. Ava: “Better half?” That could lead to something.

The Ethan Page-Chelsea Green celebration was next in the main event.

A commercial aired for NXT Gold Rush, promoting those shows on November 18 and November 25.

(Commercial)

Tatum Paxley was backstage with The Culling. Tatum was sad about how it was her fault they lost the match. Izzi Dame told her you can’t keep riding the highs and lows. Dame told Paxley to think before she acts. Dame said she cares, while Shawn Spears and Niko Vance care. Paxley said she’ll be more selective about who gets a title opportunity. Paxley said there is one more thing she has to do to feel satisfied.

Muy Grande Double Championship Celebracion – Ethan Page & Chelsea Green

I didn’t expect this segment to main event the show. However, they took the ropes off the ring on three of the sides, so that’s why it’s on last. There was a red carpet in the ring, along with a cake and Canadian flags. I also wonder how many WWE fans even knew AAA had Mixed Tag Team Champions before this. Anyway, the NXT North American Champion Ethan Page and Chelsea Green were in the ring with Alba Fyre.

Page said he was there to talk about the greatest Canadians to ever live. Page said that everybody hates them because they say things and they come true. Page said they’d be the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions and they are the champions. Page bragged about being NXT North American Champion. Page bragged about being the greatest North American in a WWE ring.

Green said she understood as a great Canadian and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion and a future two-time Women’s US Champion. Green bragged about how dominant they are. Page said that they said it and it came true. Page said they’d defend those titles against anybody and everybody. Green mentioned Joe and Page said that he ruins everything. Page thought that Joe Hendry was in the cake, so Fyre said Joe Hendry.

Joe Hendry made his entrance. Joe said that sometimes the straightforward approach is best. Joe said that they forgot what real talent looks like. Page said Joe doesn’t deserve a shot at the North American Title. Joe said he wants a title shot. Joe said he wants a shot at the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles. Green said Joe needs a partner. Joe said he was going to keep it a secret until Gold Rush, but all you have to do is say her name. Joe sang that he believes in Thea, so Thea Hail appeared in the cake. Hail threw cake at Green and Page. Hail hit a cross body block on Green and Fyre. Hendry smashed a cake in Page’s face. Hail celebrated with Hendry. Page and Green had cake all over their outfits while Hendry and Hail celebrated together. End show.

Analysis: That sets up the AAA Mixed Tag Team Match at Gold Rush. Green and Page are outstanding as heels, while Hendry’s stick is fun, and Hail is the perfect babyface partner for him. I wouldn’t call it a home run main event segment, but it was fine for setting up a match.

This was a funny video after the show.

Final Thoughts on WWE NXT

A good show overall. The Evans-Shugars match was my favorite. Other matches were mostly solid. They are building to Gold Rush well.
