Zoey Stark Shares Tribute To WWE Legend

Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark has paid tribute to legendary WWE Superstar Mr Perfect.

In a career spanning over twenty years, Curt Hennig made an undeniable impact on professional wrestling after beginning his in-ring career in the AWA, a promotion where his father Larry ‘The Axe’ Hennig made his name.

Henning would go on to defeat Nick Bockwinkel for the AWA Heavyweight Championship in May 1987, holding the title for 53 weeks before suffering defeat at the hands of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.

It wasn’t until his 1988 switch to WWE that Hennig gained international fame, battling the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Ulimate Warrior as villainous character ‘Mr Perfect’.

Henning claimed the Intercontinental Championship in May 1990, defeating Tito Santana to lift the vacant title. The Minnesota born star would go on to hold the belt on two occasions whilst feuding with the likes of Big Boss Man and Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart before a serious back injury put him on the shelf in late 1991.

Alongside his tremendous in-ring acumen, Hennig is fondly remembered by fans for a series of vignettes in which he performed sporting tasks in perfect fasion.

WWE Superstar Zoey Stark recently paid tribute to these memorable promos, including completing a half court basketball shot of her own:

Whilst the injury meant Hennig’s best in-ring days were behind him, he remained a regular face on WWE television in the ensuing years before returning to the squared circle during a three-year stint with WCW beginning in 1997.

Hennig briefly returned to WWE in 2002, including a shock third placed finish in the Royal Rumble, but was released after an altercation with Brock Lesnar during the infamous ‘plane ride from hell’ which ultimately led to several superstars departing the company.

Tragically, Hennig was found dead in his Florida hotel room aged just 44 on 10th February 2003. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in the class of 2007.
