WWE’s Stance On CM Punk Remains Unchanged

CM Punk AEW

WWE continues to stand firm on CM Punk.

From the moment he was fired by AEW, CM Punk has been linked with a return to WWE. While the star left the company in highly acrimonious circumstances back in 2014, professional wrestling history has shown that there’s no bridge that can’t be rebuilt if there’s enough money to be made.

Factor in the fact Survivor Series will be taking place just outside of Chicago, teases from the man himself, apparent hints from WWE, and speculation has been running wild.

However, in recent weeks, WWE sources have been at pains to explain that Punk won’t be at the event. In fact, it’s been reported by Fightful Select that Randy Orton’s return to action was confirmed on Raw and social media, to stop fans thinking Punk would be making a special appearance. Fightful adds that WWE’s stance on Punk remains the same — he won’t be at Survivor Series.

CM Punk Not Returning To AEW Either

Despite being fired by AEW, the former World Champion has also been linked with a shock return to the company before the end of the year. However, it’s been reported that it’s not CM Punk under the now-infamous devil mask, ruling out a quick comeback.
