Ex-WWE Universal Champion Stepping Away From Wrestling

Braun Strowman was released from WWE in early May 2025 as part of the company’s budget cuts.

He originally debuted in WWE in 2015 as part of The Wyatt Family and rose quickly to become Universal Champion and a mainstay in the mid-card. After a second run with WWE starting in 2022, his role diminished amidst creative changes and frequent injuries, leading to his second release.

In a recent social media post, the Monster Among Men confirmed he is stepping away from in-ring competition for the foreseeable future. While not ruling out a return, he expressed excitement about new ventures outside wrestling and spending quality time with family and friends. He also revealed plans to launch a tequila brand. Strowman called his decade-long wrestling journey “amazing” but is now eager to explore passions beyond the squared circle.

Alright, what’s going on, everybody? It’s time to address the elephant in the room. That being me. And the question that everybody wants to know. Adam, what’s next? It’s no secret, the last decade plus of my life, I’ve traveled around the world getting hit in the head and kicked and slammed and punched and vice versa to other people and smashed in cars and everything else in between. And it’s been an absolute amazing ride.

Not saying that I’m not going to get back in the ring and whip somebody’s a**, because we all know I can. But it’s an opportunity for me to try some new stuff, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to rekindling relationships with family and friends that I’ve missed out on, and things that, you know, you just don’t get to do while you’re on the road because it’s so busy.

I’m looking for real, organic things and passions, and experiences. And while I’ve been so blessed to be able to travel the world and get to sample the finer things in life, now is an opportunity to do even more. And with my passion and my exciting new television show coming out in the food space, talking about food, trying food, the cars, you know, my passion for that, my passion for spirits as well, I’ve really, really learned that I like tequila.

Not just any tequila. It’s got to be good. I’m talking real good. I’m talking organic. No additives. Something that just dances on your palate, makes you come back for more. Saying thank you. I found one. After I asked many, many people to send me suggestions, I found one that, well, reminds me of me. They’re hardworking. They believe in themselves. They don’t cut corners. And they’re not full of shit. Something that is so important to me now, I’m looking for no frills, no BS, and something that I can support.

Because you know, let’s be for real, there’s tons of celebrity-supported brands in all different spaces out there. That’s why I don’t think I’m a celebrity. I’m just a redneck that had a cool job. I’m a redneck that enjoys tequila. I’m a redneck that enjoys good tequila. Maybe I’m even your tequila Papi. So that being said, I’m making a journey into a space that I’ve never been before. I can’t wait to share with you in the tequila that I’ve grown to love, that I believe in, and that I want to support along their journey and bring it to every one of y’all. I cannot wait to announce this. Stay tuned.
