One piece of WWE gold won’t be defended at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania is the biggest event on WWE’s calendar and the biggest wrestling show on the planet. In more recent years the event has been split over two nights which in theory allows more matches to be added to the card, with all of WWE’s biggest prices up for grabs.

However, while the World Heavyweight Title, Intercontinental Title, World Tag Team Titles, Women’s Title, Women’s World Title, United States Title, and Undisputed WWE Universal Title will be defended at the spectacular, one championship is missing from that list.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted there are no plans for the Women’s Tag Team Titles to be defended on the show. It’s unclear whether this means that champions Asuka and Kairi Sane won’t be involved in a match.

There is right now no women’s tag team title match planned., but there is something with Damage Ctrl.

Asuka Makes WWE Return After Injury Scare

In recent weeks there had been fears that Asuka would be out of WrestleMania contention altogether.

On the March 15th episode of SmackDown, Asuka, and Damage CRTL interfered in the main event between Dakota Kai and Bayley. However, during the run-in, fans were quick to notice Asuka was limping and she was pulled from a run of live events as a precaution.

Thankfully, Asuka returned to action at a live event on March 23rd.
