WWE Has Thrown In The Towel On Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon is persona non grata in WWE these days and it seems even in private no one in the company will even attempt to defend him anymore.
Vince McMahon has been accused of serious sexual assault and sex trafficking in a bombshell lawsuit filed by a former WWE employee. As a result, Vince McMahon was told to resign as Executive Chairman of TKO as sponsors turned the pressure up on the company to take action.
Several WWE stars have spoken openly about the situation with Seth Rollins calling for justice no matter what that means for his former boss. One take on the situation that raised eyebrows with many came when John Cena simply said he’d do whatever Vince McMahon needed despite him being accused of sickening acts.
No One Defending Vince McMahon In WWE
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the situation and noted that while there are those in WWE who have defended others implicated in the messy situation, there is no one defending Vince McMahon anymore:
Most women were pretty repulsed that read it, including in the company. Obviously there are people in the company who looked at that thing and the first thing they tried to do is defend him or this and that. A lot of people did not try and defend him at all within the company.
I mean people who were even in the situation where they’ve been defending other people in the company to me, nobody bothers to try and defend Vince to me. It’s almost like they’ve thrown in the towel on him. It’s like he’s gone and we can’t even try to defend him.
Nick Khan, Brad Blum, and Stephanie McMahon were named as the anonymous corporate officers in the lawsuit but there is so far no evidence that they were aware of the severity of McMahon’s actions or any potentially illegal acts.
