WWE Teases Split Of Fan-Favorite Tag Team

A beloved tag team in WWE may be headed for a split.

After last year’s NXT Deadline, Zaria and Sol Ruca formed a tag team, currently known as ZaRuca.

While Ruca has previously held the Women’s North American Championship and Women’s Speed Championship, Zaria has yet to capture a singles title.

The duo even competed at WWE Evolution, challenging for the Women’s Tag Team Championship in a fatal four-way match against The Judgment Day, Charlotte Flair/Alexa Bliss, and The Kabuki Warriors.

In October, they unsuccessfully challenged Flair and Bliss for the women’s tag team titles on SmackDown, during which Ruca injured her left knee.

Due to being unable to defend the North American Championship against Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc, she contemplated relinquishing it, but was stopped by Zaria, who proposed defending it in her stead.

Zaria ultimately lost the match and the title to Monroe. Subsequently, Ruca relinquished her Speed Championship, deciding against letting Zaria defend it on her behalf.

A tournament was held to determine a new Speed Champion, the final match of which will take place on Week 2 of NXT Gold Rush on November 25. Zaria will meet Fallon Henley in that bout.

Cracks Widen Between Zaria And Sol Ruca At WWE NXT Event

After being declared fit to compete again, Sol Ruca was given a shot at the Women’s North American Championship during Week 1 of NXT Gold Rush.

The WWE star faced Blake Monroe, who stepped in with the intention of hurting Ruca’s injured knee, and that’s exactly what she did.

In the closing minutes, Monroe ripped off Ruca’s knee brace and applied a submission to her surgically repaired leg.

With Ruca not ready to give up, she intensified the pressure, forcing Zaria to throw in the towel, ending the match in Monroe’s favor.

In a backstage segment later on, Ruca was shown being upset at Zaria. The Australian star retorted calling Ruca’s pride “stupid,” while Ruca responded saying her pride is why she held two titles, before leaving.
