WWE Tease Bringing Star’s Old Name Back

Triple H WWE

There could be a big change coming for one WWE star who has been out of action for several months due to injury.

Like many stars that graduate from NXT, Shotzi Blackheart found herself missing a name when she made it to WWE’s main roster. Billed simply as Shotzi during her run on SmackDown, the green-haired star has challenged for the WWE Women’s Title, been part of traditional Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and Money In The Bank matches as she established herself as a mainstay of the women’s division.

Her TV time began to lessen throughout 2023, however, and in February 2024 she challenged Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title in a match that was stopped due to an injury to Shotzi that has kept her out of action ever since.

But could a change be coming in WWE for the star when she returns?

WWE Files Interesting New Trademark

WWE filed a new trademark with the USPTO on September 16th for “Shotzi Blackheart” – a trademark the company had abandoned in April 2024. The filing for the name reads that it is for:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

Whether or not this means Shotzi will be getting her surname back on WWE TV when she returns to the company after her spell on the sidelines remains to be seen.
