WWE Tag Team Reunion Scrapped Due To Injury
WWE was forced to scrap plans to get a couple of former tag team champions back together.
Back in 2022, Roxanne Perez and Corda Jade joined forces in NXT, and claimed the Women’s Tag Team Titles just a month later, defeating Toxic Attraction. However, the honeymoon period was short-lived as Jade quickly turned heel attacking her partner.
After a feud that lasted until October, the pair went their separate ways, but it seems WWE had plans to bring them back together.
In recent weeks, Roxanne Perez has also turned heel and is due to face Lyra Valkyria at Stand & Deliver. This sparked speculation that Perez had stepped into a spot previously earmarked for Jade. However, according to a report from Corey Brennan via Fightful Select, that isn’t the case.
In fact, there were plans for Jade and Perez to unite as a heel team before Jade suffered a torn ACL.
Roxanne Perez Linked With WWE Main Roster Call-Up
The report also dived into WWE’s plans for Roxanne Perez and whether she’ll be called up to the main roster. Perez has already made brief appearances outside of NXT, most notably at the Royal Rumble.
As reported by Brennan, Perez’s call-up is viewed as “only a matter of time,” but there are those within NXT who want her to stick around to further hone her new heel persona. Following on from this, some want Perez to win the NXT Women’s Title on April 6th.
