WWE May Plan Blockbuster SummerSlam Return Match for Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns WWE OTC

Roman Reigns made his shocking return to WWE on this week’s episode of RAW, and it looks like the company may already have big plans for him at SummerSlam.

The OTC had been absent from WWE television since the night after WrestleMania 41, when he was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. After months of silence, the return of the Head of the Table came at a pivotal moment during this week’s RAW main event.

The gauntlet match to determine Gunther’s next challenger at SummerSlam saw Bron Breakker defeat Penta, LA Knight, and Jey Uso in a brutal showcase. However, Breakker’s momentum was halted when CM Punk defeated him in the final leg, earning a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

Following Punk’s victory, chaos ensued. Bronson Reed launched a post-match assault on Punk, prompting Jey Uso to return to the ring in an effort to even the odds. However, Breakker speared Uso in a brutal ambush, and both he and Reed prepared to decimate Punk and Jey.

That’s when Roman Reigns’ music hit, and the arena erupted. Reigns stormed to the ring and laid waste to Breakker and Reed, forcing them to flee alongside Paul Heyman. He then helped Jey to his feet and shook his hand, though the moment was undercut by a tense stare-down with Punk, signaling unfinished business between the two.

Sam Roberts Predicts Huge Tag Team Match for Roman Reigns’ In-Ring Return

On the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts offered his prediction for Reigns’ next move. He predicted Roman Reigns might team up with Jey Uso to take on Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

“I think your SummerSlam match is going to be Roman and Jey versus Bronson and Bron,” Roberts said. “That’s what my immediate thought was.” (5:16 – 5:25)

Given the attack on Punk and Jey, and Reigns’ involvement, the prediction makes storyline sense, and it would mark a high-profile tag team return for Roman Reigns as he reasserts his dominance.
