Update On Two WWE Stars Injured In Recent Smackdown Match

There is some more information known about a women’s tag team match on Smackdown that saw two of the wrestlers suffer injuries.

On the May 12th edition of WWE Smackdown, Bayley & Dakota Kai teamed up against Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, who were the Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time in a match for the titles.

The team of Rodriguez & Morgan got the win after Bayley had issues with IYO SKY, who was outside the ring, but sadly there’s more to the story due to injuries in the match.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that Dakota Kai suffered an injury during the match and so did Liv Morgan. The injury to Kai is apparently worse than Morgan’s injury. On this week’s Smackdown, Bayley referenced Kai’s injury during a promo.

While the severity of the injuries have not been revealed, there was a spot late in the match where Kai jumped off the ropes onto Morgan and landed awkwardly. Kai looked like she was visibly in pain after that. Whether that is when she suffered the injury is unknown right now.

Due to Morgan’s injury, WWE forced Rodriguez & Morgan to vacate the titles.

Instead of letting Rodriguez defend the titles with a new partner, WWE announced a Fatal 4-Way Match to determine the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on the May 29th edition of Raw. It will be Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley & IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville vs. Raquel Rodriguez & a partner to be chosen.
