When WWE Stars Found Out About Vince & Stephanie McMahon Changes

A new report has given an update on the rumours of a WWE sale and when talent found out about Stephanie McMahon’s resignation and Vince McMahon’s return.

Ten seasons of Ross and Rachel on Friends did not provide the ‘will they/won’t they’ tension that has rocked the wrestling world as it looked like WWE – under the leadership of Vince McMahon – was set to get into bed with Saudi Arabia.

Rumours of a takeover of WWE by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund surfaced on the 10th of January, with some even believing an agreement had been reached in principle by the two sides. Not even 24 hours later, and those rumours were being called “completely false” by sources within the company.

A report by Fightful Select on the latest situation has reaffirmed most of the reports that suggest a takeover or sale is not in the immediate future. It adds that Triple H is continuing in his role despite McMahon’s return as Executive Chairman and erroneous reports that suggested The Game was going to work in International Live Events instead.

Rumours that talent was told of a sale are said to be false with WWE stars interestingly finding out about the rumours as well as the resignation of Stephanie McMahon and the return of Vince McMahon at the same time as everyone else.

Stephanie McMahon had previously led a meeting of WWE staff on the 6th of January after news of Vince McMahon returning to WWE’s Board of Directors had been made public. Stephanie McMahon was said to have spoken of potential “animosity” towards her father’s return before changing her choice of word to “angst.”
