WWE Star Working On In-Ring Return For AJ Lee

A WWE star is ready to take the credit if AJ Lee returns to the company.

She might not have wrestled in almost a decade, but AJ Lee remains as popular as ever with fans and wrestlers alike. Many of WWE’s current generation grew up watching Lee fly the flag for women’s wrestling as she won multiple Divas Titles so she remains on several “dream match” lists.

Both Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade have made no secret of the fact they want to bring Lee out of retirement, and it seems Jade in particular has been putting in the work.

During an interview with TV Insider, Jade said she’s constantly badgering Lee’s husband CM Punk about a comeback.

“I don’t know. I hope so. I’m working on it. Me and Roxy are always badgering him about it. I know he is doing it to her as well, so we’ll see. If it happens, you’ll have to thank me.”

Back in April, Roxanne Perez said she wouldn’t be able to retire until she gets a match with AJ Lee. The NXT Women’s Champion went on to recall meeting Lee on multiple occasions, praising the star for supporting her so strongly.

WWE Would Welcome Back AJ Lee

Following CM Punk’s successful return to WWE, many fans have wondered whether Lee could eventually follow suit. The star wrestled her last match in March 2015, announcing her retirement shortly after, but according to a recent report, the door remains open for a comeback.

As reported by WrestleVotes, WWE would be “totally on board” with a comeback, should Lee decide to wrestle again. The report noted the reaction would be a case of “What took you so long?” and the decision ultimately lies with Lee.

Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade will be back in action at Halloween Havoc on October 27th when they team up to face Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer.
