Top WWE Star Returns To The Ring After Injury
One of WWE’s biggest names is finally back in the ring.
For much of 2024, WWE has been hit by a significant injury crisis. CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Jimmy Uso, Asuka, Dominik Mysterio, Zelina Vega, and Rhea Ripley are all out of action, while Charlotte Flair suffered a major knee injury in late 2023.
Despite his continued presence on WWE television, Drew McIntyre was also among the company’s walking wounded thanks to an elbow injury. However, that hasn’t stopped his momentum.
McIntyre has been determined to continue his rivalry with CM Punk, and he’s even scored himself a World Title match. At King and Queen of the Ring, it was announced that Drew McIntyre would face Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle in Scotland.
Drew McIntyre Back In A WWE Ring
As he prepares for the showdown with Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre returned to the ring in a dark match following SmackDown on May 31st. While the match with Jey Uso ended in a disqualification, it can only be a good thing to see the Scottish star back in action.
24 hours later, McIntyre squared off against Priest and Uso at a live event in New York.
This pair of matches was McIntyre’s first since mid-April when he worked through his elbow injury to take part in WWE’s UK tour. The former World Champion suffered the injury during his match at WrestleMania 40.
