WWE Star Replaced In Tournament
Tournaments are all the rage in wrestling at the moment and WWE NXT is getting in on the act but already one star has been replaced.
On SmackDown recently, Logan Paul announced a tournament to find his first challenger for the WWE United States Championship. Already Bobby Lashley and Santos Escobar have advanced, leaving Austin Theory, Kevin Owens, Grayson Waller, and NXT’s Carmelo Hayes to fight it out for the other semi-final places.
NXT will see a Men’s Breakout Tournament take place following the Women’s Breakout Tournament ending at Halloween Havoc. Lola Vice won that competition and now it was up to eight of NXT’s bright young male athletes to make their mark but for one, things were over before they even began.
Lexis King Takes His Spot On WWE NXT
As the eight stars taking part in the tournament were being announced on the December 12 edition of NXT, Lexis King struck, attacking Trey Bearhill. Bearhill was later announced as being unable to compete and was instead replaced by King.
The first round of the tournament got underway on the show with Oba Femi defeating Myles Borne and Chase U’s newest member Riley Osborne beating Keanu Carver. The other quarter-final bouts will see Tavion Heights taking on Luca Crusifino and Lexis King battling Dion Lennox.
