WWE Star Has Huge Leverage As Contract Ends Imminently

A popular WWE star holds all the cards as their contract runs down.

2024 has been a huge contract year for several huge wrestling names as well as the companies themselves. WWE has secured new television deals for Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, while the ongoing negotiations between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery could have a massive impact on the promotion’s future.

In terms of talents, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and more have all signed new contracts, but Becky Lynch has officially become a free agent.

Meanwhile, Chad Gable is also on the brink of becoming a free agent, and it’s unclear whether WWE has offered him a new deal. As reported by Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful’s Backstage Report, Gable’s contract expires on June 7th, which has helped put him in a strong position.

“Chad Gable’s contract is up Friday. This upcoming Friday. He is factored huge into WWE plans and, thus far, does not have a new contract. He’s expected to get offers from both companies if he hits that area. I don’t know if WWE made him an official offer.

Based on what other people I have heard they have made offers on I would be surprised if they didn’t. That’s one to monitor. He’s got an awful lot of leverage right now.”

Multiple WWE Contracts Set To Expire

Chad Gable is far from the only Superstar who could soon be out of contract. It’s been widely reported that Natalya is on the brink of becoming a free agent, despite being offered a new deal by WWE. The star has been with the company since 2007.

Meanwhile, Ricochet is set to become a free agent this summer, having signed a five-year contract in 2019. The high-flyer is expected to receive interest from several major companies, and AEW’s Will Ospreay has been open about his desire to work with Ricochet again.
