WWE Star Applauds Gunther’s Impact On Their Career

Gunther has swept aside all in front of him on his way to becoming World Heavyweight Champion but one WWE star thinks he’s done wonders for their career.

Gunther captured the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam after Finn Balor screwed over Damian Priest as The Judgment Day fell apart.

Prior to that, The Ring General had been an all-conquering Intercontinental Champion before losing that title to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 41. However, prior to Zayn getting involved in the title picture, fan support had swelled behind Chad Gable to dethrone Gunther but that never happened.

That failure and Zayn’s success led to Chad Gable turning on Zayn and abandoning Alpha Academy before forming American Made alongside The Creeds and Ivy Nile.

Chad Gable Pays Tribute To Gunther

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Chad Gable discussed his interactions and matches with Gunther and says despite not picking up the win or the title, the Austrian star had a huge impact on his career:

I’ve come so close so many times, the Gunther stuff, what it did for my career, what Gunther did for my career can’t be overstated. I have him to thank for so much the way he elevated me.

Gunther will defend his title for the very first time at Bash In Berlin on August 31st against 14-time WWE Champion Randy Orton.
