WWE Star Was Given Priceless Advice By Bray Wyatt
A WWE SmackDown star has lifted the lid on their relationship with the late, great Bray Wyatt.
On the April 25 episode of SmackDown, Aleister Black made his long-awaited return to WWE.
The star had been released by the company back in 2021 after a five-year spell of mixed success, before moving to AEW. However, after much speculation, Black finally left AEW in February, setting up his return.
Now back on SmackDown, Black wasted little time in taking out The Miz before hitting his signature cross-legged pose in the ring.
Although he’s a very different wrestler from Bray Wyatt, Black has also never been afraid to think outside the box while embracing the darker side of the human psyche in his presentation. So it’s perhaps unsurprising to know that Wyatt used to act as something of a guide to the Dutch star.
Bray Wyatt Offered Guidance To Aleister Black
During an appearance on Wrestling the Rap Game, recorded before he left AEW, Black was asked about a hypothetical rivalry between the House of Black and The Wyatt Family.
Although the star didn’t give much away about how the clash might have played out, he gave fans an insight into his friendship with Wyatt. Black revealed that he used to speak with Wyatt regularly, before recalling some important advice that came at a crucial time in his life.
“I miss Bray, so much. I grabbed my phone the other day and I was scrolling through my messages and I found one of my old conversations with him. I used to send him these messages with ideas and stuff, and one of the last things he ever said to me was, ‘Don’t let them tell you who you are. Stand for what you stand for.’
At the time, I was mentally not doing great. I was like, ‘This idea, that idea, what do you think I should go with?’ He’s like, ‘It doesn’t matter. Just don’t let them tell you what you need to do. You’ll know what you need to do. Stand your ground and don’t let them shake you into something you don’t feel comfortable with. This is who you are and what you do, so stick to it.’
That is relevant today, in certain aspects. Sometimes you have to fight for what you believe in, and sometimes you have to let it go. In certain aspects, some of that is still true to this day. It’s one of the last things we spoke about and it’s still one of the most truest things he said,”
Bray Wyatt sadly passed away on August 24, 2023. The Wyatt Sicks faction, led by his brother Bo Dallas, continues to cause chaos across WWE in his honor.
