Which WWE star will replace Seth Rollins?

At Crown Jewel, Seth Rollins beat Cody Rhodes in front of a raucous crowd in Australia. However, that victory came at a heavy cost.

In the thick of the action, Rollins suffered a major shoulder injury while hitting a coast-to-coast headbutt on his rival. On the following episode of Raw, Rollins was kicked out of The Vision, and a week later, stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship.

It’s been reported that the faction was set to remain together for several more months, but the eventual breakup was fast-tracked after Rolins got injured.

Following Crown Jewel, CM Punk became the number one contender for the World Title, with a match pencilled in for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. Thanks to victory in a Battle Royal, Punk’s opponent will be Jey Uso, and the winner will be crowned champion.

CM Punk Tipped For WWE World Title Win

On the latest episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the TNA star gave his thoughts on the situation around Rollins and what might be next for the World Heavyweight Championship. While looking back at his time sharing a locker room with the star, Hardy said that Rollins is a true student of the game.

“Getting to work with him when I was there from 2017 to 2020 was a privilege.

It was great to kind of see the way his mind worked and the way he looks at the business. He really is someone who’s a student of the game, and he’s on top of his sh*t.”

The veteran added that Rollins and Becky Lynch were enjoying such a strong run in recent weeks, but that the risk of injury is always just around the corner.

“He was having such a good run. So I hate that. He unfortunately got hurt, but, you know, that kind of comes with the territory, right?“

Hardy went on to say that in his view, Punk deserves to win the World Championship because of the effort he’s put into the company since returning in late 2023.

“I do think Punk deserves a legitimate world title with all his work since he went back. I think he’s been great. I would like to see that happen at some point, because I truly do think seeing Punk is deserving of it. He has worked really hard. He’s been ahuge part of the WWE product since he’s been back and returned, and that is something he is deserving of.“

CM Punk briefly won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam where he beat Gunther. However, just seconds later he was confronted and beaten by Seth Rollins who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Rollins had spent several weeks claiming he was dealing with a knee injury.
