WWE Star Covered Up Tattoo Tribute To The Undertaker

The Undertaker

A big-name WWE star has lifted the lid on why they covered up their tribute to The Undertaker.

Long before rising to the top of Monday Night Raw, Damian Priest was a regular on the independent scene under the name Punisher Martinez. During this period, Priest looked up to a number of WWE stars, including The Undertaker.

Priest was such a fan of The Deadman that he got a tattoo of his famous cross symbol only to later cover it up. Appearing on WWE Tattooed, the Judgment Day star broke down why he covered up the tribute.

“I don’t have any regrets… and I say that because any of the regrets, I’ve covered. Going back to the same person, I’m not obsessed I promise, but the Undertaker, I actually did get his symbol tattooed in this skull, and then I started wrestling.

Then I was like ‘probably shouldn’t have done that’. I remember a promoter was like ‘you might have to cover that one day’ so I went and tattooed this bat over it. The Undertaker, he’s going to hear this for the first time.

He knows I’m a big fan of his and I’m sure he knows by now he’s the reason I even fell in love with this business, but no, everytime I speak to him I start stuttering and am just in awe.”

The Undertaker Unimpressed By Retirement Ceremony

At Survivor Series, Priest will team with his Judgment Day brothers and Drew McIntyre to take on Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and a returning Randy Orton inside WarGames.

Priest will be hoping his night goes better than The Undertaker’s final appearance at the event. Speaking on his podcast, The Undertaker said his retirement ceremony in 2020 was “not good,” revealing Vince McMahon didn’t seem to believe he was done.
