WWE Star Confirms Their Last Match In NXT

Grayson Waller has expressed his displeasure with Shawn Michaels in recent months as he complained about his lack of opportunities on WWE’s developmental brand but on the 7th of March, he was provided with his biggest one to date as Johnny Gargano returned to NXT to settle a score.

Gargano waved goodbye to NXT in December 2021 as he prepared to leave WWE but after giving his farewell address, he was attacked by Grayson Waller.

Johnny Wrestling returned to WWE months after his exit following Triple H taking over running the company after Vince McMahon’s short-lived retirement and that provided an opportunity for Gargano to get his revenge on Waller.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Johnny Gargano noted that it was always in his mind to make his way back to NXT to face Waller when he returned to WWE but it will be his last bout on the brand as he finishes his story:

“To be able to come back there, it was a moment that was in the works for a long time. Obviously, when I came back to WWE, that was always in the back of my mind. The moment Grayson Waller took me out, if things were to work out and I was to come back to WWE, I knew that we would settle the score sometime, someplace, right place, right time.

“To come back to NXT and have that moment, hear that crowd, and have it be a complete surprise. Say what you want about the Garganos, the Garganos can keep a secret. No one knows when we’re showing up anywhere. To have that moment again really filled my heart with much joy. It’s an amazing thing and I’m very excited for Stand & Deliver to get one more TakeOver event under my belt and wrap my story up the right way.”

“As it stands right now, for me, Stand & Deliver, that’s the end of Johnny Gargano’s story in NXT.”
