Surprising WWE Star Behind The Judgment Day’s Boost
A member of WWE’s The Judgment Day credits another wrestler for giving a boost to the group.
For over two years, The Judgment Day has been a dominant force in WWE, specifically on the Raw brand. The trio of former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, current World Champion Damian Priest and current World Tag Team Champion Finn Balor have been part of the group for the last two years. Meanwhile, Dominik Mysterio joined the group in September 2022 so it’s been nearly two years for him.
Along the way, JD McDonagh was added to the group and he’s a World Tag Team Champion with Balor. Carlito has been hanging out with the group in recent months and is considered an associate.
There was also a time in late 2023 and early 2024 when Raw’s comedy relief known as R-Truth believed he was in the group as well. Truth came back from a long injury absence in late 2023, then he quickly was involved with The Judgment Day in a storyline that lasted several months. At WrestleMania 40, R-Truth and The Miz won the World Tag Team Titles in a multi-team Ladder Match to put an end to Balor & Priest’s reign as the champions.
Finn Balor Credits R-Truth For Helping The Judgment Day Succeed
During an appearance on the What’s The Story podcast, Finn Balor spoke about R-Truth’s involvement helping The Judgment Day. Balor also spoke about how being a WWE superstar has led to him appreciating other aspects of the business.
“I thought it was kind of starting to peter off there. A couple weeks after Mania, ‘Ah, I’m not sure how long this has left,’ then R-Truth coming in, that was before WrestleMania, that’s when I felt it was starting to peter off, but R-Truth came in and gave it a shot in the arse.”
“Then, after Mania, a thing with Miz. It’s so interesting that you can spend so much time to perfect the fundamentals of wrestling and the techniques of wrestling and then you walk into the mall and a mother comes up to you and is like, ‘What’s happening between Rhea and Liv?’ Not, ‘How did you do that headlock?’ It’s so weird.”
“Even what I am in love with, that has changed. I’m not doing what I fell in love with. It’s something completely different. It’s new for me. I’m learning it. It’s super fun and the wrestling is fun. I’m doing other things with the backstage promos and we have such a good dynamic and the group is really well layered.”
In the same interview, Balor also revealed that he recently re-signed with WWE for another five years, so the talented Irishman will be spending a lot more time on WWE television screens.
