WWE SmackDown Star Could Be In Line For Big Push Due To Fan Reaction

People power once catapulted Daniel Bryan into a WrestleMania main event that he was never meant to be in and now another WWE star could be on the verge of a push all because of live crowd reactions.

At the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, there was absolutely nothing else WWE fans wanted than Daniel Bryan. They wanted to Bryan win the Royal Rumble – and were not shy about their unhappiness when he wasn’t even in the 2014 match, they wanted him to vanquish The Authority, they wanted him to headline WrestleMania, and they wanted him to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and those last two things at least wound up happening.

Now Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has noted that a SmackDown star might not have a WrestleMania main event in their future but they could be on the verge of a big push all because of one particular crowd’s love for them after LA Knight received a rousing ovation in Madison Square Garden:

“As far as LA Knight goes, at Madison Square Garden (Sunday night), LA Knight was in the battle royal and he got a big babyface reaction.

“Madison Square Garden and WWE, it’s a weird thing because, if it was any other arena in the country, they’d just go, ‘Ah whatever, it doesn’t matter’, they don’t listen to the crowd. But if it’s Madison Square Garden, they do listen.

“So it’s something to just remember because it helped LA Knight a lot. Obviously, he’s just there to basically be a guy who talks real good and then gets humiliated, that’s been his role since he got there, and he got a lot of offense in this match (vs Cody Rhodes on Raw), they went longer than I expected them to do, and it’s because, if the Garden fans like you…The Toronto fans are Bizarro Land, the Montreal fans are Bizarro Land – the Garden fans, when they’re Bizarro Land, it counts. So it counts for him.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin is still on WWE’s radar for WrestleMania 39 and reportedly a pitch made to the WWE Hall of Famer was a possible match with LA Knight.
