WWE SmackDown Rating Sets New Low For FOX Era

WWE SmackDown stage

The Absolute Best of SmackDown 2023 provided the absolute worst TV rating for the blue brand during its time on FOX.

WWE SmackDown aired a best-of show on the 29th of December as the blue brand took a look back at some of the best moments of the year. With no new matches taking place and it being a holiday week, the TV ratings for the show ultimately won’t matter but they did mark a new low for the show airing on FOX.

Programming Insider reported that SmackDown attracted an average viewership of 1.32 million which was down substantially from the 2.01 million from the week before. The 18-49 demo for the show ended with a 0.26 rating which again was down from 0.50 from the prior week. This was the lowest ratings SmackDown has had airing on FOX since it joined the channel in 2019 – although it has had lower numbers since then but only when airing on FS1.

WWE Suffer Ratings Loss To AEW

Monday Night Raw also suffered from a substantial dip in its ratings as it also aired a Best of 2023 show. AEW Dynamite ended up beating Raw in total viewership for the first time ever as a result, with Tony Khan’s company airing the go-home show to the Worlds End pay-per-view.
