Dynamite Gives AEW A Big Ratings Win Over WWE Raw

With WWE and AEW programming now rarely going head-to-head, TV ratings have taken a back seat for the most part but now Dynamite has had a surprise win over Raw.

Wrestlenomics has reported that the Best of 2023 edition of Monday Night Raw attracted an average of just 698,000 viewers and a 0.18 rating in the key 18 – 49 demo. This is the lowest viewership and 18-49 rating in the long history of WWE’s flagship show.

While it was a holiday special showcasing some of the best matches that have taken place in the company over the last 12 months, the Best of 2022 edition from the year before attracted an average viewership of 1,047,000 and a 0.27 in the 18-49 demo, marking a huge drop-off year-on-year. Although 2022’s edition aired on Boxing Day rather than Christmas Day itself.

AEW Dynamite Beats WWE Raw In Total Viewership For First Time

Now AEW Dynamite which aired as usual on the 27th of December is reported to have attracted an average total viewership of 843,000 and an 18-49 rating of 0.31. This means that Dynamite has beaten Raw in total viewership for the first time although obviously there are huge caveats about the edition of Raw that aired.

Dynamite’s ratings were up from the 20th of December show which only attracted an average total viewership of 782,000 and an 18-49 rating of 0.26.

The New Year’s Smash edition of Dynamite saw the Continental Classic final decided for Worlds End and new champions crowned as MJF suffered a betrayal.
