WWE Slammed For “Dumb” Jey Uso Booking Mistake
Jey Uso’s ‘Yeet movement’ is being slammed again.
Inarguably, Jey is one of the most over superstars in WWE today across all brands, and a singular reason behind his success is his ‘Yeet’ chants.
Yeet has existed since the OG Bloodline days when both Jey and Jimmy Uso used it during segments. However, it has gained immense popularity since Jey Uso went solo.
One would say his admiration among the masses played a role in his winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, although his reign lasted only 51 days.
On the latest The Last Word podcast, former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman slammed the company for its “dumb” booking involving Uso.
He also called out the company for lacking seriousness in helping Jey reclaim the major title.
What did Jey Uso do tonight? He came out, beat down Bron (Breakker) a little bit, and then started to Yeet?! And then, as the announcer alluded to it, he went back and, “Let’s do it again! Let’s roll it back.” And he Yeeted twice during a match that would lead to a match to get his title back. Some of the dumbest booking I’ve ever seen. [22:51 onwards]
Jey Uso Needs To Reinvent Himself
In another podcast, Sam Roberts of Notsam Wrestling claimed that Jey Uso’s character needs to be reestablished.
I do think it’s time for Jey to find a new purpose and a new specific opponent. Maybe that’s around the corner, maybe that’s for SummerSlam, I don’t know.
Uso fought Bron Breakker in a gauntlet match on the July 14 RAW episode, with the winner getting a title match against Gunther at SummerSlam.
However, he lost after being hit by a Spear for a pinfall.
