WWE Show Quietly Scrapped

Triple H WWE

As highlighted in a new report, one WWE show might never return.

Back in February 2024, WWE announced the launch of Speed in partnership with social media platform X to great fanfare. Two months later, the show debuted with a tournament to decide the first-ever Speed Champion.

A women’s tournament subsequently followed, and the inaugural champion was crowned in October.

The major selling point for the show is that each match would only last three minutes or less; however, the titles were rarely given a significant spotlight on regular television.

In more recent weeks, the show’s future has been called into question as no new episodes have been uploaded since July 9.

WWE Speed Might Not Return

According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Speed has now been shelved. Melzter surmised that the company’s deal with X has likely expired, and there’s no news on whether it will be renewed.

He added that sources hinted that the show is seen as “insignificant” within the company.

It appears WWE Speed is gone. They haven’t been taping new episodes, and the titles have been forgotten. The deal with X probably expired. Whether it will be renewed or brought back isn’t clear.

Those asked haven’t known one way or the other, basically giving the impression it was so insignificant that nobody has talked about it. There was no official word one way or the other.

El Grande Americano is the current men’s champion, while Sol Ruca is the current women’s champion.
