A second-generation star is making a comeback to WWE three years after they were let go by the company.

WWE recently announced that the Speed titles were making the move to NXT. This came after the agreement with X to show Speed matches exclusively on the social media site came to an end. It was thought that WWE might abandon the Speed titles altogether, but Sol Ruca had still been wearing hers on NXT television.

NXT General Manager Ava has announced that a tournament will take place featuring four women, with the winner moving on to challenge Sol Ruca for the title at No Mercy. SmackDown star Candice LeRae will battle TNA’s Xia Brookside, while AAA’s Faby Apache will face off with NXT’s Lainey Reid.

Xia Brookside Making WWE Return

TNA talent Xia Brookside’s match with Candice LeRae will mark her first match in a WWE ring in over three years. Brookside was part of the NXT UK brand but did not make the switch to its US counterpart when it shut down in 2022, and she was let go by the company.

Since leaving WWE, the 26-year-old has competed in Stardom, where she was part of Club Venus alongside Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa, and has found her new wrestling home in TNA, where she’s formed something of a team with Lei Ying Lee.

Brookside’s father is former English wrestling star and current WWE Performance Center coach Robbie Brookside. He came through the ranks of the British wrestling scene in the late eighties alongside the likes of William Regal and Fit Finlay.
