WWE Scrapped Bizarre Sister Storyline With Hall Of Famer
WWE had planned a sister storyline for Hall of Famer Torri Wilson and Krissy Vaine, but the fans never got to see the story play out.
In September 2007, Krissy Vaine got fast-tracked to the WWE SmackDown roster for a wild sister storyline meant to shake things up with Torrie Wilson. The creative team planned for Vaine to be introduced as Torrie’s long-lost younger sister.
Vaine’s debut saw her attack Wilson right after a loss to Victoria, instantly kicking off the feud. But everything was super rushed. Vaine only got three days’ notice before her first TV moment, and she rolled out on SmackDown not even knowing what her character was supposed to be.
Krissy Vaine Had No Idea That WWE Wanted To Use Her As Torrie Wilson’s Sister
Krissy Vaine had a recent interview with Wrestling with Heart, where she shared some tidbits and BTS scenes about her sister storyline with WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson, which never fully materialized.
“The last I heard, they were never gonna call me up because I looked too much like Torrie Wilson. So I had my hair darker for a long time because I was trying to not look like Torrie Wilson.”
“And then I think one day I woke up and I was like… I was mentally, spiritually, emotionally shot, I was done, and I was like, ‘I’m making my hair blonde again, I’m tired of being somebody that the powers that be want me to be, I’m gonna go back to who I am. I was born with hair this color.’
“So I made my hair blonder again, didn’t tell anybody, didn’t ask, I was just like, ‘I’m gonna go back to being me.’ And then within a week or two, I got a call that I was going on the road, and I was like, ‘Wait, what do you mean I’m going on the road?’
“I had three days to get ready, but they didn’t tell me what I was doing, who I was gonna be involved with – nothing. So I had to call Jolene, who is now a full-time WWE seamstress, but I had met her through Malia Hosaka, she was one of Malia’s friends and seamstress – she might have been with TNA at the time.
“But I was like, ‘Oh my god, Jolene, I need a TV outfit, I have nothing to wear, I’m going to TV in three days.’ So we threw together an outfit really, really quickly, still didn’t know what I was doing, went to TV and they basically told me that I was gonna be kind of attacking Torrie Wilson. But they didn’t tell me that they had the intention on me being her little sister, which I guess… I heard this later, that I was gonna be her little sister.
“I don’t know if this is true, Tommy told somebody else and then they told me, that I was supposed to win the belt. No-one told me any of this. I still don’t know to this day if any of this is true.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
Sadly, the whole storyline got canceled before it really started, because Vaine left WWE just weeks later, revealing she quit due to bullying backstage.
