How WWE Really Hurt Chyna After Triple H/Stephanie McMahon Affair

A former WWE writer has revealed what really left Chyna heartbroken after the fallout from Triple H and Stephanie McMahon beginning their relationship.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H have been married for more than 20 years, but their relationship had a rocky start. Triple H had been in a relationship with Chyna before he ended up with McMahon. It’s perhaps then no surprise that Chyna was on borrowed time in WWE after Triple H began seeing his boss’s daughter.

But according to Vince Russo, it wasn’t the relationship that hurt Chyna; it was WWE not letting her keep her name after she left.

Speaking on The Hannibal TV, former WWE writer Vince Russo explained that Chyna told him she understood Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had fallen in love, but she was heartbroken about not being allowed to use the “Chyna” name outside of WWE:

[Chyna] said this to me, she said this to me. She said, “Vince, Stephanie and Hunter fell in love, I understand that. People fall in love.” She said that to me. She said but to take away my name, the character I developed, I was Chyna, to take away my name that’s what really sent her spiralling. Everybody she spoke to wanted her to be Chyna, and when she said she couldn’t, she lost a lot of opportunities that way.
